Nod to Knightmare in Music Video

By David Goldstein

Here's a music video for Knightmare fans to enjoy. The song is Arabella, the band is Puppy.

As Puppy's bassist Will Michael, who also directed the video, told music website Dork, "We all grew up watching shows like Knightmare and The Crystal Maze and genuinely believed we would grow up and get the chance to be contestants one day, so besides getting the opportunity to combine our favourite elements of shows like that, with this video we quietly fulfil our lifelong dreams of getting to wear gameshow branded outfits."

We think Puppy are onto a winner with this video. Particularly with those pink arrows beyond the doorway, harking back to Knightmare's earliest winning quests.

The Guillotine Room, based on a handpainted scene by David Rowe, as shown on Series 2 of Knightmare (1988).

Thank you to James Fentiger for posting about the Arabella video on Facebook. For more musical experiences with an element of Knightmare, we recommend seeking out Tree Friend Tree Foe by Bolt Action Five and Enter the Knightmare by Evil Scarecrow, both of which pay homage to the Greater Game in their lyrics.
