RPG Season 2 Quest 10

The tenth and final quest of the Interactive Knightmare RPG. The team is Oliver Hilton, Jeff and Gareth.


Treguard A new team. Please state where you come from

Majida How embarrassing for you. Do you keep it a secret?

Treguard I'm sure they don't Majida

Treguard Will you need reminding of the rules?

Hiltono you bet :) with a haircut like that wouldn't you!

Treguard On your travels you make take two objects unless told otherwise. You can possess as many spells as you like but only cast 3 in the whole adventure. Your health status is represented by a display shown in the top right of the magic mirror.

Treguard In green you are at full strength. When it turns yellow, you should be on the lookout for food, and on red you are in grave danger. Put food into your knapsack.

Treguard Designate a person on your team who will cast out spells, and one who will give directions. If you all give directions, or answers to a riddle, then the first answer / direction will be taken.

Treguard Right. Face the dungeon door and take a brave step into the unknown. Good luck!

A hall of choice for the Knightmare RPG

Treguard You enter a plain room with four exits. Each exit has a narrow path leading up to it. Above each door is a different symbol.

Hiltono I advise we do the quest for the crown :)

Treguard This is the hall of choice. Here you must choose an object to redeem. Will it be the cup that heals (which some call the chalice), the sword of freedom, the shield of justice or the crown in glory?

Treguard Go through any of the doors and you choose that quest. Stay where you are, and your choice will be determined. You could be assigned a mystery quest.

Treguard "Welcome to Level 1, team. There is little danger posed by the opposition, but I should keep lookout, just in case. First, you need to find some supplies.

"The time is drawing near. Soon, we, the opposition, shall have an undefeated season. I still need all of you to operate at your fullest if we are to succeed. The zombie fleet need to be controlled to take orders from us."

"Of course. The zombies have closed minds, so even the strongest of hypnotic magic would have no effect on them."

"Ah, but you're wrong there, little friend. Level 1 is our first target, so I need to control the zombies there first. I have a green staff placed in Level 1."

"Erm, Sir?"

"Oh, it's you. Did you transport the staff safely?"

"Well, that's the problem. On the way, the road we used was very bumpy. And..."

"Yes?"

"The staff broke into pieces."

"Right - that's it!!"

"Sir? Why couldn't you just transport the staff yourself?"

"You idiot! I've ran out of transportation spells. Get to Level 1 and collect the pieces. Then bring it back here. Whatever you do, don't let it fall into the hands of any dungeoneers or Merlin.

"He'd find the staff most interesting. Remember, it's green! Oh, and by the way, this staff is magical, so you can still take two items. Got it?"

"Yep"

"Excuse me a second. Yes, I do believe that we're being spied upon. Hey dungeoneer, let me give you a hand..."

Treguard Well done team. You have reached the end of Level 1. In Level 2 you will meet some of the foulest creatures that ever inhabited the dungeon.

An icy mountain area in the second season of the Knightmare RPG.

Treguard Welcome to Level 2. This level is not as it once was, for the Evil one himself changed it to suit his own deadly needs. Among your travels here you may come across Ixia, and then the dreaded Eliminator. You are on an ice mountain. Ahead of you is a portal. The first thing is to find some food and supplies. You'll need everything you can get.

Jaffa What is our quest again?

Treguard Onward team! I fear that something terrible is afoot, and this may be the last time we set our eyes upon Level 2. If you're to complete your quest, you'll have to hurry.

"I remember, Sir. We sustained heavy losses. The creature went mad, as though under some sort of spell."

"Not too far from the truth. Ixia kidnapped three of his females and has him working for her day and night to keep them alive."

"Luckily, we have formed an alliance with Ixia, and she has promised to stop Meridian from attacking us, as long as we don't send more than five troops to her level."

"I see. That was a good arrangement."

"Yes, but we must stop Meridian getting help. Ixia cannot guarantee preventing this on her own. So, to comply with the terms of the agreement, I have ordered all troops to find and destroy dungeoneers. If a dungeoneer so much as spends too much time in a room, our troops will be on them like a pack of dogs!"

"Sounds good Sire."

"As you can see. Meridian's females are locked up away perfectly safe in Ixia's dungeon complex. Even I don't know how to break into it! I think we can drop down to condition yellow. Well done everyone. Another win for the Opposition."

"Yes Sire, very good. Now, it is my duty to protect you sire, for there are spies about, and one is looking at us right now."

"Oh really? Well. Please do finish them off."

Treguard: Come inside quickly and close the door behind you! We don't want any of HIS minions getting in, do we?

Majida Oh, like last time. Look on the bright side. We dined on Goblin sauté for a month!

Treguard Yes, I wondered what made my stomach go queasy. Anyway. I have looked at the hourglass, and I see that we have slightly more time than normal.

Majida So do you think that there's enough time for this team to complete their quest?

Treguard We shall see, Majida. Speed, agility and wits are what's necessary to win. But the time will come in this final phase where our team must save the dungeon.

Majida Ooohh I can't wait! Let's get on with it then!

Treguard Not so fast Majida. First our watchers will need a brief reminder of what went on in our last phase.

Treguard Somewhere along the path, you will enter the hall of the gods. Each one will try to defeat you so I suggest you find an object that will defend you against it, such a water to fight fire. I wouldn't fight any of them, but you must. Anything else I could do for you?

Jaffa Which exit should we take?

Treguard Or perhaps something you could do for me. You help me in some way, and I'll help you

Treguard "You'll help me? Thank you. Well, as I understand, the path now includes Ixia's complex. You will encounter the entrance to the complex near the end of this level. It should be marked clearly.

Ark Could the letters spell out "FREE"?

Treguard So, you can either go into the complex and rescue my females or continue to the end of Level 2.

Treguard Good luck. To aid you in your search, I gift you a spell called RUST. It will help you in your most dire peril. If you rescue them, I shall gift you a token to aid you with the puzzle on this level."

Treguard You walk across the bridge and enter the portal. It appears there has been yet another folding of the dungeon. What we're seeing is an alternate Level 1.

Majida What's this thing over in left corner?

Treguard Well I don't know. It looks like a Jester. Perhaps he knows this place. I should try and get as much information as possible team while you still can.

Treguard "I am the keeper of this gate. Here, I have a gift for you. It is a scroll and may prove useful to you somewhere ahead on the path. Here, take it."

Treguard Beyond this entrance lies the complex which Ixia controls. You must be the secondary guard for the prison room. Through that door you will reach the prison room and must guard it until Ixia comes and relieves you.

Treguard I should take advantage of this mistake on the guard's part team. He seems to think that you're one of the guards from Level 2.

Treguard Read the scroll later, I hear something coming!

Treguard "I give you nothing more. GO NOW!"

Majida Treguard. What are these skulls on the wall?

Treguard I've heard of these rooms, but I never believed they existed. The skulls collect energy to send to the generators. Shut down the generators, and you affect the whole complex.

Treguard If our team walk past the energy collectors, their life force will drop. But not to a life-threatening extent if they find food soon. Life Force is very low team!

Treguard "HAHA. Hello there dungeoneer. I hope you like my complex so far. I've made it like this to stop little pests like you. But I see that you aren't afraid of it so far. Trust me, you will be. Why not stay a while and play?

Jaffa Uh oh

Treguard “I think I'll watch you till you drop dead on the floor. After all. Your life force is low after that encounter with my skulls."

Treguard The screen starts to flicker and the generators stop. There's a massive explosion and you are almost knocked back off your feet.

Treguard You look up and see a note land on the floor in front of you. Next to it is a tomato.

Ark Argh! My damn computer crashed! What did I miss?

Jaffa We took out Ixia's generator

Treguard You enter a room with an exit at the back and three prison cells. Each cell has a lock. At the back of the room in one of the cells, you hear someone: "Hey dungeoneer! Please help us! We beg you!"

Treguard If there isn't an element of danger, the quest means nothing. What we need is to find the clue room. It should be nearby.

"STOP! I can't believe you just said that. Somebody could be listening. We've had this problem all season. Next year I'm going to install some sort of security system to catch the little sons o'bitches!"

"Stop blabbering. Is it ready?"

"The causeway? Yes, but there are still some bugs to be ironed out."

"As long as it works, that's all I'm bothered about."

"In that case, erm, yes."

Treguard For this, I shall gift you with four spells. The spell REVEAL will allow you to release the medallion. One of the other three will help you rid the evil one himself.

Treguard You enter a circular room with two large exits, left and right. In front of you is a pit of lava. Above it, a prism glows brightly. This room contains an oracle. It will help you but might want something in return.

Treguard "You are searching the Golden Medallion. Am I right?"

Treguard "You have come very far and have a short way to go. If I could remember the rest, then I could help you. If you help me remember, I will aid you."

Treguard You are standing at a causeway. On the other side is a teleporter.

Treguard Evidently this is THE CAUSEWAY. The Unholy One has put a transporter at the end of the room which must lead to another section of the causeway.

Good luck! Remember this causeway has a time limit.

Treguard You are standing on a 2. The only help I can give you is that Plus, Minus, Divide and Times are important and that you must go from hexagon to hexagon. But always use the tile you previously stepped on.

Treguard But remember that the order in which you calculate may change i.e. stone that you are on X previous stone and vice versa.

Treguard All is not lost! You can still save the dungeon from the zombies. What you need to find is the talisman and how to operate it. It can only be found in Level 4. I'm sending you there now!"

Treguard "Hey, stop that stupid Wizard! I thought I told you to keep an eye on him?!"

Treguard Well team, it seems like you're going to have to save the dungeon. Prepare yourself, I'm not sure how bumpy this ride to Level 4 will be.

Treguard Level 4 is where all the evil minions that serve the evil king live, so you can expect to come up against some serious force. Good luck!

Treguard "I have a PIECE of a talisman, or a talisman which can turn your enemy's swords to rust. Isn't that good?"

The talisman makes the zombies retreat in the second season of the Knightmare RPG.

Treguard You command the zombies to retreat. They all turn around and go back through the vortex. In the confusion some of the zombies accidentally decapitate.

Treguard After a short while, the zombies go wild and walk around confused. Team. This is your only exit. May I suggest you use it and try to escape the dungeon before time runs out!
