I understand everything but this line. How do you know it'll be reruns from the beginning? (Perhaps I've missed something, sorry.)

It is good that they rate it highly enough to mention it among the highlights of their 20 years. And I'd love to see Teabag and Grotbags again.

There's somebody at the door.
There's somebody at the door.
There's somebody at the door.
Aaaaargh it's Grotbags!!!

I hope people remember that, or it'll just look silly.

What i was trying to say that its NOT a new series and that it is re-runs. Thats good for anybody that does not have digital Tv though.

I guess what I really meant was this:

In the email they mention we'd have to chance to watch old shows like Knightmare. Perhaps they just mean one episode, rather than a full rerun of one or more series.
When you said "reruns from the beginning" I thought you were saying they intended to show at least one full series, and I wondered how you knew that. That's what I meant.

Sorry for the confusion.

Twaddle, the original post.

Matthew Kelly's got better things to do with his time on the ninth day of Christmas, I reckon.

Grotbags and Teabag - ITV wouldn't be seen dead showing these with their 80's T-shirts and things.  In today's world you'd never get away with something like Grotbags or Teabag, for that matter.

As for Roland Rat - it wasn't even ITV's creation in the first place!  This rat appeared on ITV yes, but as part of TV-AM which is a separate license awarded to a separate company for broadcast between 6am and 9:25am on what was originally, prior to 1983, unbroadcasted hours.  This has been the case since Feb 1st, 1983 when TV-AM launched, and is still true now of GMTV which has the contract until 2008.  The rat is regarded as the saviour of TV-AM as it revived their fortunes and saved them their license in the mid 80's.

Knightmare - yeah yeah yeah, spent last 8yrs denying all that, they did.

Moomins - never see that again, thought it had been wiped.

Dangermouse - Cartoon Network have that now.  Was this ever on ITV?

I'm sorry if Stephy has this phrase copyrighted, but:
"GRRRR!"

If he's lying, I'll set Festus on him. And I've still got my green staff and I haven't experimented with it for a while. And the Brollachan's always hungry. Mr. G. has his club back. Etc. Etc. Etc.

On a serious note, people should really be whapped if they knowingly post false news. I just hope he's been misunderstood.

Well...

The extract from the CITV newsletter is correct - see http://www.citv.co.uk/citv/newsletter/26_11_02.htm

I am aware from someone at Granada that its highly likely that CITV will be showing clips of Knightmare, and possibly a theme night on ITV2 showing various old shows. Will try and find out more details.

Hmm, with all the Knightmare Knews going on, I wonder what on earth will happen next  ::)

Aww, I was looking forward to using my staff. Sorry for the manic threats Bananaman. ;) Problem is I promised Festus din dins so now I'll have to do my whole "shurrup" routine again to quieten him.

TimeGate, Knew Knightmare, Hugo in Panto, Knightmare on Challenge, Knightmare on CITV, Knightmare on DVD. Heavens to Hordriss, it's exciting.

Oh yes oh yes oh yes!! Old CITV shows on in January...could I be any more happy? It will certainly give kids of today a chance to see what they're missing.
I have just discoved how much influencial power I weald over my 10yr old cousin, Jason.
Me: Oh you'll get to see programmes that I used to watch when I was younger, like Knightmare and stuff.
Jason: I don't care, unless it has Puddle Lane on.
Me:I thought that you liked Knightmare?
Jason: Yeah well I can watch that whenever I like, I'll just nick ya videos.

I think thats almost a backhanded compliment to our generation. If nothing else he is experiencing programmes from the eighties and understands that some things were better! I am so pleased that I kept a load of my kid's videos or he would be stuck with the current dire trash!  :D

What's puddle lane about when it's at home? :)

Okay, this is from vague memories. Correct me if I'm horribly wrong.

Puddle Lane was a series of stories set in a fantasy world. It was presented (and narrated?) by some sort of magician. I seem to remember he had a puppet creature thing. A dragon? I can't remember.

The story things themselves were animated storyboards and such, I think.

The only reason I remember it is because of the mammoth range of books that the series spawned. I think I had just about all of them.

Oh, and I think the magician lived in Puddle Lane.
