Series 5 - Episode 3

I was watching this team earlier today, Now would anyone agree here they were kinda robbed in the fact that they were rushed to make a quick second decision to grab the horn or gold since Ariadne was comming they had no time to think about it, it seemed kinda unfair to me whats yer view on it?

They'd been given a pretty obvious clue though hadn't they? Nothing wrong with a but of hurrying along - if they were panicked into rash decision at that stage, they'd never have coped with level 3 anyway, so I think reaching the end of level 2 was a fair enough measure of their ability.

Good Episode I think, they dealt with Sly very well and despite all the panicing on the causeway they got a cross. They must have watched previous series because of the mentions of well ways. I wonder what will happen with Skarkill

This team did seem quite flappy on the causeway, also they did a lot of research because they even knew to hold the spyglass upto the eyeshield (maybe they were allowed to watch previous episodes?), the only major hash they made was taking the horn instead of the gold.. As proven the gold is always better  ;D

---------------SPOILER ALERT---------------

I'm pretty sure the horn they've got is really a goblin horn, they blow it and Skarkill laughs claps 'em in irons and the backgorund goes all swirly and the die. :( remeber children, having the horn isn't good ;)
Much more exciting episode apart from dragging old charcter out of the woodwork (motley and oakley) I was sure they didn't make another apperance after series 4?? Anyway, I really wish the teams wouldn't all shout at once. They need to choose someone to talk to the dungeoneer rather than they all shout and they get confused.

Hmm, perhaps Lord_Bob or Illusion could edit the title of this thread or put a big bold message in the first line to say "INCLUDES SPOILERS", since I think this thread inevitably has and will reveal contents of the next episode. :D

Me thinks its preety obvious from the title what the thread contains.. Its obvious we're gonna be chatting about what we've seen - so if you dont want to know dont read...

Failing that - at the top of the very first post of each topic on each episode put in capitals:

"THIS TOPIC CONTAINS SPOILERS"

That way, no confusion -

Didn't mean to do that, I was GUESSING...didn't know if that was the same guy that got killed by Skarkill. My bad, sorry.  :(

Hey, it's no problem, Belladonna. It was inevitable that in discussing this episode we'd end up mentioning what happens next. I don't see why we shouldn't discuss what transpires in the next episode since it's so linked with this one (which, incidentally, isn't guessable from the title of the thread) so thought I'd suggest the spoilers mention.

I just thought I'd mention the idea of a warning in the title or first line of the first post for people who don't know what's coming next and would rather wait until Monday to find out.

--- WARNING: INCLUDES SPOILERS ---

A much better episode I thought, partly because of the lack of Smirkenorff flight. They were really nice and impressive way back when, but I'm not keen on them now, especially without the voice.

Much more gameplay, which was great to see. This team do panic a bit, but frankly, as regards their undoing, I think I'd have grabbed the first things that came to hand and run from Ariadne too! Not sure if it was edited at all, but with the imminent approach of the Queen of the Arachnids, I think a lot of teams would have not remembered that clue from Gwendoline about needing to bribe someone on the way ahead and just scarpered with a random choice of objects.

Oakley's a bit of a shadow of his former self, I'm afraid. To be honest, a lot of those non-Eye Shield woodland scenes are pretty drab.

Hehe. :D

I'm just a bit bored with Pickle, especially the way he patronises the bratsies: "Choose well", "Guide your Dungeoneer well, team" and all that. If a certain Grimwold's application to be Treguard's assistant had been accepted (and it was a sheer travesty of justice that it wasn't, dearies!) the little things would have got much less patronising, much more interesting although probably slightly more evil advice.

I can see where they were coming from with the snap question, but I would have been confused too.

Its worth noting that both Ariadne and Oakley make their only appeances of the season in this episode

Well, unless you're in Series 1 and 2, when you needed the horn to get past the Wall of Jericho. (and I believe it's the same prop too!)

Yes! If he worked as a kitchen porter like me, he'd have been sacked by now! Lazy bugger...

Looking at the way these teams handle the causeways, it's just as well there's no timer! Causeways are one of the places where it's much better if you can guide your dungeoneer by degrees or clock points (like the winning team in Series 6) rather than shuffling about and spazzing.
