Making a Knightmare Game

Hey guys and gals
I've been playing DJ OSKA's knightmare game there. It has helped me realise that this could open up more possibilities for people to create their own Knightmare games. I am mgonna try and give it a shot. I know there is software out there allowing people to make their own games. Does anyone know which is the best. I have no programming ability. Does anyone have any experience with RPG Maker?
I am going to put a bit of effort into making a game, so would appreciate any info or advice anyone has
Cheers

RPG Maker's a bit of an odd product, really - it might work for a Knightmare-based game, but the opportunity to create individual characters (eg. Treguard) is diminished a bit by its insistence on creating generically-named characters in more specific classes. Nevertheless, I wish you well.

I have a KM game made in RMK2000

It is going well, but I'm not past level 1 yet :p

Soo many multiple room choices to make >.<

Then theres the four quests 0.0

www.r3dmm.com

Goto the RPG section and you can see a life-fore tester.
I'm using the video clips of it no however.

My advice on creating a game is- test it thouroughly again and again for any possible errors!!!

If you're looking for ease-of-use, try klik and play or The Games Factory (www.clickteam.com)
I created my KMgame on TGF!!

I wouldn't use Klik and Play if I were you as it's outdated and obsolete. As Oska says he used The Games Factory and did a damn good job! I suggest using either The Games Factory, Multimedia Fusion or Game Maker.

TGF is an updated version of KnP!!!!

It does more things but the concept is very much the same!

I think I did well on the game- it took me long enough!
If you're going to do a project like mine, you need to be very focused and devoted to it as it takes lots of time!

Yeah, it takes a long time to make a polished game. I've wanted to do one for a while. I started off doing a small minigame called Pooka Invaders, but had problems with my copy of TGF so it got scrapped. Then I toyed with the idea of making a Knightmare fighting game using MUGEN, but it met with a lukewarm response and I couldn't find anyone to help with the characters. Then I wanted to make an FPS using FPSCreator, but was limited by the model packs available.

One day I'll get round to making the text adventure I promised myself I'd do.

I have the The Games Factory myself! Its a nifty piece of programming, and tinkering with animations and time never ever cease the fun in creating a Knightmare Game...

(Using counters was complicated but I realised it can evolve any game by ten times!)

If we all put our heads together, share multimedia, images, sound clips etc. We can make the greater game possibly even better...

:)

Mind you, I'll get to work on it tonight! I'll post tomorrow when I have made any progress...
