The Dunshelm Players: Yes, Dungeon Master

Post by HStorm »

The KM-Radio team are back in action, and on September 7th - the twenty-second anniversary of Knightmare's first ever broadcast - our latest production will be available from http://www.kmramdram.co.uk/.

It's another comedy, and therefore not set in any continuity, and like its most recent predecessors, it fuses Knightmare to a comedy act of yesteryear, in this case the classic Governmental parody series, Yes, Minister. But in contrast to KM-Today and Bolt To The Head, this is an actual play rather than just a sketch; it's our first full play since Famous For Retreating.

This play is again recorded in the same manner as BTTH was, in that, instead of gathering in a recording studio, the cast has recorded their roles from home on their own computers, frequently using cheap microphones. Therefore, as before, the sound quality is variable, but it is generally tidier and more consistent this time around thanks to improved filtering techniques.

The cast on Yes, Dungeon Master is as follows;-

Russell 'Ruzl' Odoni as Treguard Myatt
Jake Collins as Sir Hordriss T. Appleby
Andy Marshall as Bernard Folly
Rosey Collins as The Descender
Matt Richings as Merlin and Supporter 1
Helen Becconsall as Majida, The Commentator and Supporter 2
Martin Odoni as The Returning Officer and The Throne

Check back here on September 7th for the links!

Yes, Dungeon Master - now available

Post by HStorm »

Yes, Dungeon Master can now be downloaded, free as ever, if you go to http://www.kmramdram.co.uk/yesdungeonmaster.htm. The full play is slightly under 52 minutes in length, 47.5MB in size, and in MP3 format.

(Small correction to the cast list in the previous post; it was actually Jake Collins, not Matt Richings, who played Supporter 1. Sorry, Jake!)

If you have any feedback, please do send it to us, either at kmramdram@tiscali.co.uk or on our forum at http://kmareramdram.proboards41.com/ind ... tion=login. (On a serious note, we get very little feedback on our work, so if you want us to continue making plays, you really should get in touch to let us know as we're currently discussing whether it's worth continuing.) There's also been a minor tidy up of the website, just reorganising the projects into categories. There are a few projects mentioned as being 'In development', which should give you a hint of things that may follow in the near future... if people want them.

Re: COMING SOON FROM FREEBIEVILLE...

Not one, but two new MP3 sketches will be available in the festive season. Christmas Day will see the release of Blue Balls, a quick five-minuter from the Yes, Dungeon Master cast. Then on New Year's Day there'll be another adventure in the realm of publishing Harry Potter books, with Sidriss The Confused & The Deathly Hallows. Watch this space for the links.

Just to let you all know, there will be at least one more audio sketch available as an 'Xmas gift', as is now an annual tradition, sometime between Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

Help needed

Post by HStorm »

Any budding actresses out there, we have an opportunity for you with our latest mini-production. A part's become available to play Mildread in this year's non-Xmas-related Xmas sketch. If you're interested, please let us know as soon as possible - we'd need the lines recorded by the 16th of December.

A quick post to confirm that a third Yes, Dungeon Master feature will be available as this year's festive offering from Christmas Eve. Yes, Dungeon Master: The Long Donjons is part-based on the mock-interviews performed by The Long Johns John Bird & John Fortune.

The cast are; -

Treguard Myatt ... ... ... Ruzl Odoni
Sir Hordriss T. Appleby ... ... ... Jake Collins
Ms Jane Byrden-Fortune ... ... ... Rosey Collins
Bernard Folly ... ... ... Andy Marshall

There might possibly (odds are currently against it, but it's possible) be another sketch available over the festive season, but it would have to be very much a rush-job. We'll let you know.
