Re: Unintended Knightmare references in the news

According to The Times today, Jess Phillips - who has been known to refer to Knightmare in tweets - 'will at least shake up the [Labour leadership] campaign by asking tough questions and injecting much needed vim.'

Not unlike Merlin in Series 3 then.

Re: Series 3 - Episode 15

Belated thanks to James for his factual answer in the previous post.

In this episode I like the way that, even though Team 12's quest was to be constrained by time, they got new candles.

Re: Corbiss the Bemuser

Thank you, Robin. That's most kind of you. I'm glad that my enjoyment and catharsis in writing it has been shared by people reading it.

Despite being axed, negotiations are underway for a few specials between now and April. Perhaps a spin-off will be commissioned too...

Re: Corbiss the Bemuser

The race to lead the Powers That Be enters its final phase. Beaujolais de Pfeffel sets out to charm the dungeon folk with a new jester's cap. He hears people appreciatively shouting "Coxcomb!" but wonders why they stop before the "scomb" bit. Corbiss the Bemuser, taking a cue from watchers, tries to...

Parody of Twist in My Sobriety by Tanita Tikaram

I believe I've now written over 200 of these Knightmare song parodies. This one is based on the longer version of Twist in My Sobriety by Tanita Tikaram (1988). I've included links to relevant (official) clips where possible. Official audio ; lyrics via Google [ Series 4 Quest 1 ] All the children n...

Re: Series 5 Episode 1

On this first flight for Smirkenorff ( here's an official clip ), perhaps the saddle hasn't been properly adjusted as Kathryn slides about a bit during the landing... The middle advisor Fay Keenan is now a successful author. Here's her website. In an old tweet about Knightmare, Fay refers to 'outtak...

Re: Hello There!

The news of a weekly chat has unlocked a long forgotten memory from the recesses of my mind! I remember, in about 2000ish, there was an online quest each week which was housed in a chatroom somewhere. The only details I can remember is that someone played Treguard and set the scene for a contestant...

Re: Who did the theme tunes for series 4 and 6?

I didn't know about Hordriss appearing in the Dizzy game! That's cool :) (The game is "Dizzy and Seymour - Kingdom Gems", apparently.) Yes. After playing it, I pointed out to Yolkfolk.com that Hordriss hadn't been credited. They should now have rectified that. I then learned that Treguard appeared ...

Re: Who did the theme tunes for series 4 and 6?

Welcome back, GrandDizzy. Since you last posted here, Hordriss has appeared in a Dizzy fangame and the Oliver Twins have played Knightmare Live! You ask a good question which sadly we don't know the answer to. A shame The Quest didn't have an article about the 1992 theme tune remix as that might hav...

Re: Series 5 Episode 14

I've been rewatching and rethinking this clear-as-mud episode recently. There will be some new opinions to share in due course. 1. When the team read the scroll telling them that 'Fair trade is no robbery', the only information they had was that they needed magic and a red gem. On the table was a g...

Re: Corbiss the Bemuser

Corbiss the Bemuser sends several knights off in search of a magic money forest, while he visits Wolfenden to spell out to the townsfolk that it's time for real change. So emphatic is Corbiss that he literally spells it out, unwittingly casting CHANGE and turning himself into a goblin. Unsure whethe...

Re: Corbiss the Bemuser

Campaigning in New Witch Haven, Beaujolais de Pfeffel is accused of being a lothario who draws power from Lord Fear's Mendacity Engine (as referred to in The Quest Volume 3 Issue 1) and makes it up as he goes along. He tries to assure the Grey Sisters that he is nothing of the sort: he has a plan fo...

Re: Series 4 Episode 10

The TV Times listing for this episode (as tweeted here) spells the dungeoneer's name 'Vicki'. It's safe to assume that TV Times got the episode details from an official source. I've updated the website.
