Just a question though, how did they manage to escape? I believe if they had been in series 4 then Ariadne would've got them. It seems that she is a lot slower these days, but then again spiders only live so long and she must be a pensioner by now and maybe she wasn't hungry either. Another mystery which has also been asked before is how do you get off a ship on water through a portall and then back onto it again through another portall and be in the middle of the top deck?

Oooh this episode sees Skarkill and LF having a bit of a dissagreement and falling out over Skarkill's pay ! Hopefully (or maybe not) they'll kiss and makeup soon then .

So timeout ends with them in the last dungeon, with an interesting spell scroll. I wonder which one they will use and will it be the right one :-. I wonder if they'll win or meet there doom so close to victory :-. We'll see what happens tomorrow, so please don't anyone tell us or give anything away even if you do know what happens .

Team 5 entered witchhaven, and narrowly avoided Lord Fear's grasping hand, then Ben was hit by one of Peggatty's fire-blasts for life-force damage. They started to cast their spell, but Pickle cut them off and they hurried Ben out instead. (A let-off?)

First dungeoneer encounter with Greystagg. They wisely decided to trust her and exchanged the ring for knowledge of how to use the pooka-in-a-bottle. She also instructed them to abandon their spell as it would destroy them.

Cornered by skarkill in the next room, but they unleased the pooka on him. Gained a key from him. Learned the causeway combo from the scroll.

Made easy work of the causeway again.

Used the key to open the descender and entered level 3.

Ben picked up a string of sausages which somebody had considerately left there, then entered the clue-room. Took the gold and the cross.

Reached the ship "Cloudwalker" and paid Captain Nemanor. He sent them to retrieve an astrolabe from Ariadne, via the hold.

At first it looked like Ariadne had got them, but i think it was an optical illusion as she was above them. (They didn't dither, but even so they didn't really have time to gather the food, read the scroll and collect the astrolabe.)

Returned it to Nemanor, who transported them to the final dungeon.

A scroll offered them a choice from two spells: "TRICK" and "TREAT".

Time-out arrived before they could decide. A tantalising level 3 cliffhanger....

To me casting the spell would have made sense instead of legging it. For Greystag to then tell them to discard it in the next room because it was dangerous just seemed a bit pointless; I mean why have the spell at all? The only reason I can think of is that it was a means of showing that Greystag was trustworthy.

The issue I have with this series is the transition to level 3 is a bit of a non-event. They just get there in the same way that you travel from room to room. I want a definite marker that the new level is starting. A descender would have done the trick nicely.

On the bright side, the music is good and I also thought the wind effect was neat .

There were times they entered rooms and got straight into the action without any introduction, it seems when Nemanor sends them to the mines, they go straight for the scroll without any describing - I know not all teams do that bit anymore, but later when Ben walks along, he asks "where am i now" as if it's his regular room entering thing to say. (Even though he's still in the same area at this point!)

I know everyone loved the LF-Skarkill stuff, but I think less is more and I would've preferred a bit more plot with the boat and Ariadne, maybe even something from the Level 3 clueroom such as an object they needed to beat Ariadne - they took the mace and they never need it. There was a rope and a gauntlet on the table - can't really see how these would have been needed. Although I did keep thinking they maybe should have taken the rope, as at the end of the dwarf tunnels there's another rope on the floor before they board the ship!

POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T SEEN SERIES 7

You say that Team 6 wouldn't have been allowed to win "directly afterwards", yet in Series 7, we saw/will see two winning teams in succession (Team 6 and Team 7), so I doubt if the concern of having two straight winning teams had anything to do with any "conspiracy" since they "let" that exact thing happen in the very next series.

Assuming that the following and last team of the series (team 6) who were one of the youngest teams EVER would not win, the producers allowed Ben et al to refilm that room and continue to the end and team 6 were therefore not allowed to win directly afterwards.

Team 6 were robbed. and not only robbed but prematurely killed by the programme makers.

With the blades, as long as a dungeoneer wasn't cut properly in half I think they felt it wasn't fair to kill them - although I certainly hope it drained their life force quite a bit. That only seems realistic.

In earlier seasons several teams were struck by the scorpion's tail and it did very little life force damage.

In the instance you're speaking of here, there were several items of food on the floor. As far as I could tell, the dungeoneer had just put food in his knapsack when he was struck, but then took another food item to restore his health again. We don't see this clearly because the view had switched to his advisors while he was collecting the second food item, but it's missing from the floor when the view switches back a moment later.

I'm talking about the hit from the witch, Pickle said the team took damage, but we don't see the life force for another 2/3 rooms after that hit.., i think it comes up in the dwarf tunnel in level 3 when they pick up food.. well you can see by the clock the hit didn't have much effect, there was no chance the clock would have been as full as it was. after all it was a while after the hit before they found food.

but then i don't know how powerful the effect of the hit was, i can only go on what we have seen in the past.

In other words we're only two-thirds of the way through so we're not THAT close to the end.

So what if Ariadne was on top of them? She still has to CATCH them, and she didn't. Perhaps you're comparing it to what happened to one team from season 4? On that occasion I thought it was unfair because the film of the spider had clearly been sped up.

The hit from the what which didn't affect the life force? Do you mean the sturmgeist? The LF clock wasn't on the screen at that point, so how do you know it didn't affect their life force?

As for the thing on the boat, I agree it was terrible, but that's not the team's fault is it?

But the team had a VERY bad start, and what makes them one of the worse is how much they had been let off. (The hit from the which didn't effect the life force)

only one causeway with a timer, and so on. lets just Waite and see what happens. plus the whole thing on the boat was terrible. As i said all the live action was great, appart from the lack of Tiny
