Its also tempting to say goblins, but it was the goblin horn sound that scared me more (the thought of them being close behind I found scarier)

So I'm gonna go for the red dragon (S8) as its appearance with s8 team 1 was quite unsettling...

The 'hibernating' trolls at the start of Level 2 (S7) when they awake and lift their axe is quite daunting too! 😮

When I was a wee lad (6, when I started to watch it, halfway through Series 6), I remember hearing one for the first time. I was scared stiff! Then I look at them now, & think "What's so scary about them? It's just a computer enlarged man in a suit!"! Ah well, childhood memories...

What about those crunching, munching noises though :o. I used to be scared of the goblins but probably moreso the warning siren. I think I used to dream about quests and that the siren kept going, like they were constantly being followed.

I found Fetsus a bit scary at the time, amusing, yet you never knew how dangerous he could be, or if he'd suddenly leap on screen and kill the dungeoneer.

Mr Grimwold never scared me at all for some reason, although Ariadne, in S4 especially, was rather nasty.

I'd say Assassins were pretty nasty too, with all of the tension built around them. The actual teams tended to look rather scared, to boot.
