I was flicking through some digital channels one afternoon last week, and I noticed this programme called Raven on the CBBC channel.

I found it to be very interesting.

I also found it to be pretty similar to Knightmare in quite a lot of respects.

Its a very good programme, but watching it I couldn't help but think that there is certainly a market of a Knew series of Knightmare.

What do you think?

There are some links with Knightmare with kids being put in a medieval-themed game show with a bearded host and I guess Knightmare and Raven appealed to the same part in me.

We haven't had a new series since March 2010 nor any repeats since August 2010 so I've started a petition to bring back Raven to our screens. If any Raven fans out there could sign it I'd be really grateful - the link is http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/bringbackraven/.

I even remember going as far as to trying to apply for the show when I was 9 pretending I was 11, but my mum knew that would never work. And after convincing someone on YouTube recently, they uploaded one of my favourite clips in Raven history. The one thing is though I don't see how it has any link to Knightmare. True Raven is kind of like Treguard I guess, but I don't see much link between the two shows. Oh well, It's still a gr8 show!

Yes there's a definite Knightmare feel to it, and I did want the episodes to go on longer than they did as I became quite mesmerized by the show when watching, I don't see it on TV anymore or cable which is a pity as I wouldn't mind watching again even if they were repeats. I'd want a new host of it though if they ever did a new series. Besides it was all outdoor challenges if I remember rightly, there was no interior games like Knightmare, everything was out in the open if I recall, I only saw a few episodes though

Did you at least spend a little time having a look for it? It was only on page 3 of General Discussion. You could have found it manually within a minute, and even more quickly by using the forum's Search function. Of course only Moderators can merge threads; and in addition to that, I think it's true to say that they don't mind tidying up after members - in fact, some of the Mods might even enjoy it, in a Mr.-Muscle-slogan-type way - but please do not expect it of them.

That said, thank you for the Raven DVD news. Personally, I doubt it will make an official Knightmare DVD release any less unlikely. It just makes the lack of one even more unjust.

There's a actually another Raven dvd out there guys that shows the show and isn't just an interactive DVD. It's called 'The Warriors Collection' and while chances are slimmer than a wafer biscuit on a diet it does allow for one of those glimmers of hope that one day this milennium we just may get an offiical Knightmare dvd, or medium of the future, release....

Sure the setting and the host have similarities, but from there it seems more like a cross between The Crystal Maze and an obstacle course to me. Sorry if this upsets anyone, but hey, it's just my own personal opinion.

I can't remember what its called but teams of brats make virtual creatures which compete against other teams' creatures. I don't like the look of it but I guess I'm not the target audience. Also the presenter is a freakishly bland bloke who pops up on other things occasionally, including patronising old footballers on cup final day

The host is a typical, mysterious mentor figure of the fantasy world, a la Gandalf/Obi Wan Kenobi. There's a lot of mystical babble unconvincingly dressed up as pearls of wisdom, and on the whole, the programme takes itself too seriously.

In that regard, the dark irony running through every season of Knightmare beats Raven it into a cocked hat.
