Never say never, he was on the list of people to be considered for the Ninth Doctor! (But then again, so was Bryan McNerney, aka Grimwold, so it was a very diverse list...)

Bryan McNerney told me in 2006 that 'an SFX survey listed [him] as No: 64 in their "Who'll Be The Next Doctor Who?" survey'. He didn't say whether this survey referred to the Ninth Doctor or the Tenth. If you have confirmed it to be the Ninth, please let me know from where, as I can't find any copies of the survey online.
