<![CDATA[Parody of Still Alive by Ellen McLain, from the game Portal]]>You might not know, but I am a HUGE fan of the two 'Portal' games. When I saw a reference to Portal on the Surrounds Boards, I was over the moon! So out of boredom (and a break from revising) I decided to write this. It's basically Treguard singing to Lord Fear about an apparent defeat. And here it is:

It was a triumph.

I just made a note here: HUGE SUCCESS.

It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.

The Knightmare Dungeons,

we do what we must

because we can.

For the good of all of us.

Except the ones who did die.

But there's no sense crying over dungeoneers’ deaths.

We just said ‘farewell’ and wished them all the best.

And then suddenly we won.

And we had lots of fun.

With the people who were still alive.

I'm nowhere near angry.

I'm being so sincere right now.

Even though you tried so hard,

to kill us.

And launched out a dragon.

And sent out a troll to kill us all.

Now you’re weak and really sad but I’m so happy for you!

Now these failed attacks make a lovely timeline.

So let’s re-write some books,

and make a name for our time.

It will be lots of work,

but please don’t go berserk,

just be grateful you are still alive.

We’ll have to just leave you.

I think you’d prefer to stay inside.

Maybe you'll find someone else to help you.

Maybe old Mogdred.

That was a joke!

Haha! Fat chance!

Anyway, this crown is nice.

It fits me perfectly well.

Look at me still talking

when there’s so much to do.

When I look back now, it makes me glad I'm not you.

I've a dungeon to run.

There is questing to be done.

With the people who are still alive.

And believe me I am still alive.

I’m ruling Dunshelm and I'm still alive.

I feel fantastic and I'm still alive.

When I destroy you I'll be still alive.

And when you're dead I will be still alive.

Still alive…still alive…

You think? Why thank you. It took a while to piece together because some of the clips froze for a few seconds when I played them back, but I guess that's Windows Movie Maker for you.

You've got a nice singing voice.

Aww thank you. This is actually probably one of the only songs that I'm willing to listen to again, because my other songs I can't face because they're so embarrasing. But when I showed this video to my sisters, they didn't recognise my voice until a few seconds in, which actually surprised me, because on close inspection, even I didn't recognise it!
