I don't like stickers simply because im worried i'll get rid of whatever I've stuck them too, lol

But other projects I've supported were only even done if they reach the target, I didn't realise this one was going to happen regardless.. so it's not really a pledge but a purchase and maybe that's why it's a bit more expensive.

Ideally these campaign sites would let you choose your own combination of items with tick boxes, and then pay whatever the total came to, instead of "this whole package or nothing" which probably puts a lot of people off. Still, I'm happy enough with the standard book and glad I was able to contribute in the end. Huge congrats to David for reaching and exceeding his target!

Curiously, both indiegogo and kickstarter recommend that campaigns provide higher perks following the format "all of the previous perks plus X". They seem to feel that it results in higher contributions overall.

I would have loved the special edition too (and probably would have paid extra for it), but I wouldn't know what to do with the rest of the stuff it came with - there'd be no point in David producing lovely artwork that'd just end up sitting in a box I don't have room for. Ideally these campaign sites would let you choose your own combination of items with tick boxes, and then pay whatever the total came to, instead of "this whole package or nothing" which probably puts a lot of people off.
Did i read the paper back version was different to the hard cover version?

I haven't used Indiegogo before but i looks a bit like Kickstarter which i have used, is there a real difference between them, or pretty much the same thing?

It was meant to be. By the way, I let David Rowe know that there are episodes online of Le Chevalier Du Labyrinthe and El Rescate Del Talisman that give further exposure to his Knightmare art, so these may now be covered in the book.

It looks like David's campaign has been gifted with a late surge just as Knightmare Live's was. "Only a short way to go." I'd like to express my gratitude to everyone who has contributed. For so many people, being a 'fan' comprises expecting something for nothing and complaining about its flaws without a second thought. Anyone who has put money towards the campaign has achieved something more, and not just for themselves. Your generosity does you, David Rowe and Knightmare credit.

Even on a desktop printer, 100 pages of full colour will not only be terrible quality, but will likely cost you an entire set of ink cartridges.

I'd be surprised if a full set of colour inks, plus paper, would be less than the £20-£25 extra cost for the printed version and the quality would be terrible.

But that's part of the problem. Printing is very expensive.

I suspect the normal edition might be available as a printed book and it will definitely be available as an ebook.

I know David was toying with allowing people to print the ebook themselves. However I think that depends on resolving piracy issues.

My suspicion is that the prices will be higher after the campaign. Usually that's the actual "perk" for donating rather than being a buyer after the event

By all means, if you can find a site that enables David to print the book, post it, cover other costs, and make some profit, all for a lower cost than £40 then let's hear about it.
