Well I had a look, and there was no team that died in the Card Room with a Dungeoneer/Advisor called Ben.

That'll be because his friends called Brian.

I also checked the advisors from the teams who died in the Play Your Cards Right room, and there isn't any Brian there either. So indeed your friend has been telling pork pies!
