I don't know if anyone remembers a death in series 2 when a team fail to take the gauntlets and therefore can't deal with a catacomb bite. They go into a room to the left where Moghdred says "You've wandered into one of my little play-pens, play a while, play forever! (evil maniacal laugh and dungeoneer dies)

Just before that though is when they meet the oracle of confusion in the object room (the one with the stairs at the top) who clearly says "The way forward is the way back" but the team don't go back. This isn't mentioned concerning the death weirdly.

There's also a random one in series 2, where the dungeoneer wanders into the object room at the top of the stairs, and this ghostly shroud floats over and kills them. I never understood that one

This was in the episode repeated by Challenge last night/this morning. I believe the oracle says that "The way out is also the way back", referring to what we saw in the previous, winning quest, i.e. that the dungeoneer would have to travel beyond Level 3 and the Dungeon in order to complete the quest and get back alive.

The other death you mentioned is from the second quest of Series 2. The cavernwraith attacked the dungeoneer because the team hadn't earned a spell from Cedric that would have protected them.

How about least funniest? There's a fair few deaths in Series 3 that piss me off because of how unfair they are,

Treguard then says "Oh dear, I think all I'm going to get from them is a stoney silence". It was the way he said it, I was laughing for ages after that.

Nothing like a dose of Simon sidestepping left to create laughter. Accidental comedy is always the best kind, especially if your name is Simon.

It was strangely amusing seeing the team guide Simon straight off a cliff.

I reckon a funny death would be if Oakley had ever killed anyone. He would probably have dropped the large branche of the dungeoneer's head.

Which deaths arn't funny?

Almost all of them were deserved for their blind stupidity (The points where you shout at the TV).

The few that I thought were not deserving are like the X-mas season end cop-out.

I wonder if they needed Soap for a later scene though? (Stomach peraps?)

The objects available were a bar of gold, the soap and the comb. From that clue, it's clear the comb was required, and possibly the soap as well. The real silliness was not so much the choice of objects, as the fact that they only took the one object.

SERIES TWO. Killed by Cedric as they had the spell SHOVEL but tried spellcasting SPADE! and then said the word stalagtyte thinking it was the password!

SERIES THREE. Team who had an amulet of invisibilty and carried on using it thus not seeing where they were going and falling off a cliff.

SERIES FOUR. the welsh team who's famous last words were..."sidestep to the left" lol

SERIES FIVE. Team who were turned into a goblin and were eaten by the blocker for not knowing password(the dungeoneers voice was all squeeky when saying red,blue,green,grey etc)

SERIES SIX.Team who fell off causeway puzzle, the ones who didnt even have time to even move one square cos they were so slow! lol

SERIES SEVEN:team who were killed by the trial by spikes,the ones that had the troll blocking the way. they couldnt finish of the spell,as they missed a letter by not using darkness powder. This team were cool and quite funky for that time!

SERIES EIGHT:team who were killed by red dragon, "cooked or raw" lol comedy was great!
