Errrm, what about all those times he flew dungeoneers between levels?

That happened in Series 5 (when he didn't even speak), 6 and 7. By series 8 Smirky had his own room and just spoke to dungeoneers, probably due to the more room to room nature of gameplay.

I had forgotten about the dragon in Shrek, of course Smirkinoff would be a little bit less cartoony...

His voice was distorted in the first place, so it wouldn't be hard to replicate it.
