Lord Fear's Helmet

Lord Fear had a couple of helmets in his 4 series of Knightmare. Which one of these helmets do you prefer? Do you like the shiny metal effect from series 5-7, or would you rather him wear the white, skull helmet from series 8?

Personally, I think that the helmet from series 8 looks rather stupid, and I don't like it.

What do you think?

Do I like Lord Fear's Shiny metal helmet? Now there's a question I never expected to be asked!!  ;)
And yes actually I did prefer his shiny helmet!  ;D The helmet he had in series 8 was rather funky with the skeleton on the back, but the problem was with the shape as it was too close fitting to his head, it made him look a bit daft!

I agree. I thought the skeleton on the back of the Series 8 one looked a little silly, to be honest.

The series 8 one was strange, didn't think it was as good as the one in the previous series

I prefer the pre-series 8 design too. I liked the idea of the skull. It just didn't work that much. Now a shiny metal helmet with a skull etched into the metal, on the other hand...

I don't think you'd've noticed it it had a skull embossed on the shiny helmet,as they had to K-Line the helmet so it wouldn't reflect that much (basically when you film on chromakey, you have to (or are supposed to) dull reflective orshiny objects as they cause problems when keying out. The K-Line sprays help, but you tend to lose detail, at least until you clean the stuff off

Wow, never knew that. It seems they paid great attention to detail in using the Chromakey technology. Certainly there's none of the hideous mistakes that other shows of the period made while using it (actors disappearing into backgrounds, horrible edging appearing around actors and such). I guess they made certain of everything since it was to be so central to the look of the programme, whereas many other shows just thought "Oooh, lets add some blue screen technology!" and then went on to mess it up.

Um...I actually preferred the white skull helmet. It made me scared! Reminds me of Voldemort (Harry Potter books).

The skull cap looked a bit like a bicycle helmet. How silly.

I think I'm on the 'Preferring-the-shiny-helmet' side - the skull one made him look like a bonehead (excuse the expression)
