Outside or dungeon?

Post by Julius_Scaramonger »

Did you prefer the outside scenes or the dungeon stuff? I think in a perfect series you would get an even mixture...

found the dungeon more to my taste, But there is always a need to take it further. At leats they didn't make it silly

Agreed. The dungeon created environment was brilliant. I think that's why Series 3 appeals so well to me. However, the outside world gives it that huge extra dimension, especially with Smirkenorff providing transportation to seeming huge distances between levels. It wasn't ruined by the 'outside' footage, and the eye shield gave a chance to show it to full capacity.

I prefered the dungeons but i like it when they introduced the real life locations...so...

I think that the quest should stay in the dungoen but use real locations like the castle scenes from S4

Outdoor scenes when moving between levels are fine by me, i.e. a scene as the dungeoneer arrives at the next castle and a scene as they leave it - no problems whatsoever and even better if there is an obstacle. Dungeons are the main theme though and I believe they should dominate.

after reading my post i think it maybe dident make sence..ill try again.

I prefer the dungeons.
It feels alot more clustraphobic. Whitch adds to the game IMHO.
Also the dungeons had better chalenges, traps and clue rooms.

But what i did like about S4 onwards was the use of Real life locations - treepaths, taverns and the like.

If they had applied that tecnology to the dungoen format i would have been a very happy bunny.

Personally, I like the dungeons more, as in my opinion it makes it far more atmospheric.  Also, I like dungeons!  They always look so cool!  ;D

I liked Series 7 - a mixture of the two, with the emphasis on gloomy dungeons growing as the quest became deeper and more dangerous.

I liked the idea of them having to find the dungeon in series 4. I think I prefer mainly in dungeon with outside to add to it.

I, personally, like both.

I love the mix on S7, where you have them walking into apparent danger as they go deeper into the new VR world that is the Mire/Goth.  It puts a new edge on the quest.

There again, I liked the look of S4 very much too, had a magical feel to it.

having, as far as i can remember, never seen series 1-3 i really feel un-equiped to compare. according to...everyone the first three were a lot more dungeony and i an't wait until i do see them. im sure they are brilliant.

i know what you mean about "finding the dungeon" but with only level 3 being the actual dungeon the name dungeoneer is now slightly misleading as they spend the majority of the quest elsewhere ;D just an observation.

definitely the dungeons for me, I much prefer Knightmare 1987 to 1989. I didn't really like the Eye Shield

I liked Dunkley Wood in series 4 because you wondered along it and then found the pub, which I liked.

I think this may have more to do with my subliminal alcohol addiction though.

I only actually got to see series 6 and 7 when I was younger (maybe only series 7)

But after I have seen most of the episodes I think that I liked series 3 best, although 5 wasn't too bad.
