Brighton 2021/2022?

So obviously at the moment, it's next to impossible to organise a meetup. But some people have been in touch, expressing an interest in doing one as soon as it's practical. We were discussing this in chat, and we were wondering if there would be any interest in Brighton...either late 2021 or early 2022 (essentially when it's "safe" once more).

As some of you may recall from a few years ago, Brighton has the advantage of offering a nice number of geeky activities (escape rooms, laser quest, VR, board games) all within reasonable walking distance. As usual, we'd envision a weekend or long weekend. No theme parks on this one, but probably a more relaxed board-gaming, wandering around sort of meetup - maybe hanging out on the beach if the weather permits.

Any thoughts?

Works for me, although big sister no longer lives there it has plenty on offer that I still enjoy. The market street are something quite special there and the place has a definite 'buzz' to it making it fun to be in and if we're lucky Alan just might wear his stag night gear again...welll the moustache at least ;)

I'd be up for this in theory assuming we're back to normality, almost survived 2020... Roll on 21 and get this mess cleared up.

Count me in, living in London it makes Brighton very easy to get to!

I support Brighton as a choice of meetup location. A good place for activity and inactivity, and not without its Knightmare connections.

I'd be in, once this can happen again!

So I'm still thinking about this. Towards the end of the year, maybe even in the summer, it seems that restrictions could be fully lifted and the adult population will be vaccinated.

I'm waiting to see what the general attitude in the UK is likely to be at this stage. At the moment I'm thinking it may be possible (and, realistically, as good as things are likely to get). I am, however, open to thoughts.

I'd hazard September onwards might be optimal if all have had their double jabs by then, plus the summer price hike that's going to be even more keenly felt this year is likely to have subsided. Assuming all is good country-wise by then :)

Yep, that's my thinking.

Brighton itself is also tricky because many hotels only allow bookings for two nights on the weekends.

I'd agree with autumn onwards. Nearly everyone should have had their second dose by then.

It’s a busy year with a wedding and as-yet-unplanned honeymoon for me (whenever Southeast Asia isn’t in the rainy season) but count me in if possible!

Long overdue and welcome here if we can! :)
