Gerard Depardieu was in The Man in the Iron Mask, as was...
Jeremy Irons, who featured in The Lion King, as did...
Rowan Atkinson, who was in Blackadder II, as was...
Tom Baker, who was in Dr Who, as was...
John Woodnutt, who was in Knightmare, alongside...
Alec Westwood.

There, I found a bit of a different way to get from Blackadder II to Knightmare this time.

How about Jimmy Nail to Natasha Pope?

I count seven programmes/movies in that list, maximum is six! Never mind though, it's just a laff.

Mel Gibson was in Braveheart with Philip Vansittart.
Vansittart was in Doctor Who, as was John Woodnutt.
Woodnutt was in Knightmare, as was Bill Cashmore.

Pele to Audrey Jenkinson.

I didn't realise there was a limit! :-[ I can't think of a way to get the last one down to 6. Anyway...

Pele was in Victory, as was...
Michael Caine, who was in Batman Begins, as was...
Christian Bale, who was in Little Women, as was...
Gabriel Byrne, who was in The Man in the Iron Mask, as was...
Jeremy Irons, who was in The Lion King, as was...
Rowan Atkinson, who was in Blackadder II, as was...
Simon Jones, who was in The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy, as was...
David Learner, who was in Knightmare, as was...
Audrey Jenkinson.

There, that one has 8! I propose increasing the maximum number of programmes to 8 for trans-Atlantic (counting Pele, as he's from Brazil) chains, keeping it at 6 for domestic.

Kelsey Grammar to Joanne Heywood.

I think the film Pele was in was called Escape To Victory, in fact.

Well the point of the game this is based on is that it should always be possible to find a way from any actor to another within a chain of six, so I'm not sure I agree with that idea. I was actually thinking it might be better if we introduced a rule that the final link in the chain can't be Knightmare, as the endings are getting very samey.

Well I did mention it in the opening post of the thread.

As for Pele to Audrey, I was thinking more on the lines of...

Pele was in Escape To Victory, with Sylvester Stallone.
Stallone was in the remake of Get Carter, with Miranda Richardson.
Richardson was in Blackadder II, with Simon Jones etc.

I'll try and make a chain from Grammer to Heywood later.

Kelsey Grammer appeared in Star Trek: The Next Generation, along with Patrick Stewart.
Stewart was in Dune with Sting.
Sting was in Storm Monday with Sean Bean.
Bean was in How To Get A Head In Advertising with Richard Wilson.
Wilson was in Life As We Know It with Hugo Myatt.
Hugo was in Knightmare with Joanne Heywood.

Okay, one more with these rules, then we bring in the rule that the final link in the chain mustn't be Knightmare. That will be a challenge. :o

Kirsten Dunst to Stephanie Hesp.

Oooooo, go on have a try. Let's start with a fairly easy one. Say, Paul Eddington to Hugo.

This is a very weak connection, I think, but it works:

- Paul Eddington was in The Adventures of Robin Hood, which contained a cameo from Patrick Troughton.

- Patrick Troughton was Doctor II in Doctor Who; there are many connections to Knightmare from there, but I'll be a smartarse. Archive footage of Troughton was used in The Day of the Doctor, which also starred David Tennant as Doctor X.

- David Tennant's Doctor appeared (briefly) in Blink, which also featured Carey Mulligan as Sally Sparrow.

- Carey Mulligan appeared in An Education, which had Benjamin Maydon (me) in the background.

- I appeared in the first pilot of AegisQuest, which also had Alan Boyd (Mystara) in it...

- ...who was on Knightmare with Hugo Myatt!
