Granitas Is Cute wrote:I hunted Mark down on Facebook and asked him what he meant and he replied:

I'll be in the UK the week of Monday (July 22nd) filming new episodes for a new web-streaming version of Knightmare.

I then asked if it was an official thing led by Tim Child and his answer was:

Yes.
:-O

.....I don't think anyone saw this coming!

Amazing news! I can't wait to see this! I wonder what made Tim do this, considering he said in the documentary that he didn't want to do it again.

But this is fantastic news and I can't wait to see how this turns out. :)

Would it be terribly cynical to suggest the answer might be "potential revenue in light of an increased interest in Knightmare thanks to Challenge's repeats"?

Whatever the reasoning, this is potentially fantastic news! :)

wow... interesting.

Something like Knightmare is so cheap the make theses days.. everyone has access to blue screen and fancy computer software so do a decent job.
It's always the cracked ones that let the light in

OMG; this is wonderful news!

Any new KM related stuff is a thrill, but to be getting something with Tim and Mark involved is definitely a bit special :D

Out of interest I noticed Challenge say they have the licence for a few years. So I'm hoping this is an indication that they will show more series of Knightmare. Fingers crossed!

I think they mean the licence for Series 1 & 2... they have said they're not looking into buying any more series at the moment, though I'm sure they'll give it some thought once they've shown the first two a few times.
Anyway, let's not let this thread go off-topic...

I didn't mean to go off topic. I just picked up something that Challenge said on the link you provided and was curious.

I'm relatively optimistic about something like this, although I do have to wonder how far it will go. I think we should sit back and see what happens, taking things with an open mind.

This is indeed rather exciting. Has Tim Child been cleverly rebuilding the KM brand via a licences to Challange and KM Live?

Noticed this on Tim's wikipedia entry - does anyone know if this is new info?:

"He is currently Managing Director of DungeonMaster Ltd, and is active in producing for the Internet and the advancement of linguistic artificial intellience in drama applications."

OK - I now know exactly what this is, and although I'm not allowed to say (yet), I can tell you absolutely that it's very, very exciting.
