Even if people were to download every episode off of the internet, I still think people would buy an official release DVD.

Thats the message people need to get across.

uploading eps is not [helpful to the cause].
Well... maybe it is, actually.  It's bringing it to a wider audience.  A lot of people aren't able to get Challenge TV just to watch Knightmare : this is simply bringing the episodes to those people who can't see them.

The quality, whilst good, is way below that of any DVD release.  Most of the people who are downloading and watching the episodes would buy an official DVD regardless of the availability of online eps, and perhaps more people would than if there was no way for people to be reminded how great the series is.

( edit: damn you people, posting replies as I respond to your previous posts... ;-) )

How many episodes of Knightmare can you fit on one DVD?

Any techies in the house who like to answer that simple question?

Depends on the quality and the type of DVD used.  I have a Red Dwarf II DVD here which has 6 just-under-half-hour episodes on it.  KM episodes are closer to 23/24 minutes.  You could fit half a (full length) series onto one DVD easily.  You might actually squeeze 9 onto one dvd, then you could have the other 7 on a second dvd with special features to fill up the gap.

Personally I would say that the people who are downloading the episodes are also going to buy the dvd's if they get released. What is the real difference to saving your video's of it when it's on tv?
