Now now. We don't want any violence there. It just doesn't work and it doesn't help that either. So please be kind.

Hmm, I was wondering about that, the player comes up with "You need new software to download this clip" which really cheeses me off! >:(

Fair enough for most people.... Real downloads the software and everything works.

What if you don't have a connection at home and the college has nothing but MACS everywhere so you can't link to the PC version!
AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!
It would lead to a swearing fit but this is a family forum!!!

I know this is a very late revelation, but I'm sure I saw a tool hidden away on a media website somewhere that converts RealMedia to AVI, which certainly will work on Windows Media. I'll have a rummage around and see if I can find it.

RealOne is a terrible piece of software, full of bugs. Avoid it like the plague. If you want to play the files on this website I suggest you instead go to
http://forms.real.com/real/player/blackjack.html and download RealPlayer 8. Once you've downloaded it (it's free), start up RealPlayer, click on View and then click on 'Content Panel' to get rid of the junk on the left. Voila! Everything should work fine now with no 'Real needs to download new software' messages. The website contains RealPlayer 8's for Windows 98/Me/2000/XP, Windows 95, and Mac OS8/OS9.

That's fine, except that many of the codecs on Real 8 are out of date. If you want to display much of the RealMedia created at any time since last spring, you'll need RealOne. You're right, it's got all sorts of bugs (and the GUI looks horrible!), but it's a question of priority.

The majority of clips on this site should play on RealPlayer Version G2 (6) or higher. This is because they were created a while back, and in fact have gone back to using the G2 encoding software when making new files as the newer versions do not work as well on my PC.

So which is a better version to view the clips on out of RP G2 (6) or RealOne Player (RP 10)?
