Mistress Goody sings about herself. Based on The King of Rock 'N' Roll by Prefab Sprout. Video, lyrics

La la la la la la la la la la la la laaa
La la la la la la la la la la la la laaa

All the lazy teenage oafs
Are now busy dodging ghosts
But I know they won't attack or haunt me
If the skulls get in my face
I remind them of their place
I'm the crone of Series 4 completely

Into Knightmare
Just need a lair

Old bag, dungeon hag
Mistress Goody
Old bag, dungeon hag
Mistress Goody

Malice thinks she's boss
And I let her, it's no loss
One day she'll be double crossed, swiftly
Let old Hordriss row with Mace
While I build my power base
The ambition I have had is sweeping

New broom, this room
Sweep it clean, maybe (magic!)

Old bag, dungeon hag
Mistress Goody
Old bag, dungeon hag
Mistress Goody

Get out, child
Wicked and witchy
Right there in Knightmare in fright there in might oh yeah
Crooked and bitchy
Might scare in Knightmare and I'm Erin I'm oh yeah

Now how's this to beat all shocks?
I've got Merlin in the stocks!
May infect him with the pox discreetly
Mouldy Mildread flew away
Mrs. Grimwold had her day
I'm the crone of Series 4 completely

Years on, I'll thrive
In Knightmare Live (old bag!)

Old bag, dungeon hag
Mistress Goody
Old bag, dungeon hag
Mistress Goody...

I bought this on vinyl back in the 1980's, came with a B side but don't ask me what the other track was. ???

My knowledge of the series must seem very basic to others as have no idea (or to put it better, unable to recall) who Mistress Goody even is - or what she represents - but it was mentioned the character does appear in a later series than what we have been shown on Challenge thus far, so looks like we're going to be properly introduced (once again) in due course.

Yes I did enjoy the parody also, sorry for rambling. ???

You'll notice her in Level 1 of Series 4, often in the Eye Shield room with Malice, making a broom sweep dust with magic and (once) putting Merlin in the stocks. Pickle (or was it Treguard?) names her once as "Goody".

In any case - great parody, David. Of all the subjects I thought would never be mentioned...

I don't think *anyone* knows exactly who she's meant to be! She has very few speaking appearances, and what she does say is quite nonsensical and pointless. It's not at all surprising that you don't remember her. :)

Not one I'm especially pleased with but I'm glad it has been enjoyed, especially by someone who remembers the original song's release.

Mistress Goody only appeared in two quests ('often' is pushing it) and was never listed in the credits (though Treguard named her on screen and she named herself). Whether she was powerful enough to capture Merlin, or was simply on guard duty, is never made clear. There is a possible link between her and a character in one of the Knightmare computer games. Here are clips of Goody's first and last appearances.
