What ever happend to those cavernwrights? They seemed to disapear after series 3 and those pesky little dwarfs never ended a dungeoneers quest :-/

They were out-evolved by those cats that fired laser bolts from their eyes.
In fact, I think the wights were only indigenous to the catacombs directly below Dunshelm, so you wouldn't find them in any of the other places the dungeon spread to.

thats a shame just hope this new knightmare has deeper dungeons and cavernwrights in the higher levels

It's cavernWIGHTS by the way, not cavernwrights. A cavernwright, if it exists at all, would be someone who builds caves, which sounds like a redundant industry if ever there was one!
I'd just like the new Knightmare, if it happens, to stay in the dungeon and not start wandering around above ground again. Wouldn't say I'd shed any tears if the wights didn't appear though. They weren't very exciting.

I agree with Storm, wights were nothing too special, and KM VR should stay in the dungeon where it belongs although perhaps one or two forest scenes wouldn't hurt

Homer Simpson once made a comment about a 'cold snap that killed off all those hobos'. Maybe the same thing happened to cavernwights. Perhaps they migrated to Winteria, and were killed by a combination of frostbite and boredom.
Cavernwights, as described in the first KM gamebook, are much more interesting than those that appear on the programme, in my opinion.

"Cavernwights?"
"Those wired looking blankets that ad long noses an were blind as a bat?"
"When Lord Fear took over the lower levels I used em as cheep Goblain Food."
"I don't think theres one left in the hole blommin dungeon now."
"Grippa, Rhark & Tiny ate all the little bliters."

Something that Treguard said about cavernwights still botheres me: "The wights were once human..."
If they were once human then what happened?!
ps: My friend has one of those as a pet :P

Well noticed. Now it's bothering me too...
Merlin should have given some Dungeoneers spells, to turn the cavernwights back. It would've been a more humane quest than finding a sword...

That would be a good quest for the new Knightmare :)
That reminds me, a while a ago I had a knightmare where you Mogdred turned you Drassil in to a cavernwight...

The wights' ancestors from centuries ago probably became trapped below ground somehow and never escaped. The species devolved as the generations passed until they'd mutated into the cavernwights we know and love... well, tolerate.

Interesting. How did I appear to you in the dream, Snowwie, before I became a cavernwight? (And by the way, did you celebrate Finnish Independence Day recently?)
I like your explanation of cavernwights, HStorm; although it would, perhaps, make them eligible for the 'stereotypes' thread. Somehow it's hard to be an original troglodyte. (Are we perhaps thinking of the same Sliders episode - the one that ripped off H.G. Wells' 'Time Machine'? ;))

You're going a bit far when you accuse the laws of nature of being stereotypical!

No I wasn't thinking of Slidersin fact, although I think I know which episode you're talking about.
