2013 Blackpool Meetup

Post by Mystara »

An inappropriate period of time has passed since the last all-community meet up. It's time to fix that.

After discussing things with a good number of you, the general consensus seemed to be that Blackpool offered the right combination of cheapness, location, and things to do that would appeal to the most people. Therefore, we propose going with this.

The plan would be to arrive on a Friday and leave on a Sunday, although people would of course be free to come and go as they please.

Assuming that a sufficient number of people would be interested in attending, I can look into the costs of staying. I would suggest that it's in the region of £20-£25 each per night, so perhaps something like £50?

If you're interested, either post here and indicate your preference on the facebook page:

Just wanted to say have fun if you're off to Blackpool this weekend.

And if you're planning to cast a DRINK spell at any point, use it wisely!

Ha, like it! Have a good one to the people who are going.
The only way is onward, there is no turning back.

Nowt to do in Norwich.
Plenty in Blackpool. Plus it's cheap and fairly central.

300+ miles away... nah, 5+ hours drive, cost a fortune.
I'll stick to the home of Knightmare I think, plenty to do around these parts.
(Too old for Blackpool anyway) 8)

I am not back in Ireland until December of this year, but if there is a meet up in 2014 you can bet I will be there!

Too old?

I think the average age of attendees was about 30 or 31.

Yeah, I had my 30th in July... way too old for Blackpool stuff, might get away with it in my mid 20s but not anymore.

30 was pretty much the general age of those attending at the weekend. I am pretty sure most can muster enough inner youth to have a fair time in Blackpool.
