Master Of The Dungeon
How did Treguard become The Dungeon Master? What did he and then the next dayhave to do to become it? And... surely he;d know the dungeon inside out, if he was indeed MASTER of the Dungeon. So why does he 'think' a door is up the back somewhere in s5, or seem unsure about things in s7?

Re:Master Of The Dungeon
I think Treguard is supposed to have conquered the dungeon once, or a certain amount of times over, single handedly (without advisors) and was able to endure the horros within (the reason dungeoneers had to wear the helmet, supposedly). The dungeon changes so often, I am also assuming no dungeon phase is ever the same as one before and so noone can tell what it was like. Also, his 'uncertainty' may simply be a hint to the team without saying "go here" and "go there".
Does that sound plausible?

Re:Master Of The Dungeon
According to the first Knightmare novella, the Castle was Treguard's ancestral home stolen from his father, Baron Dunshelm, by Vestan of Brittany. Years later Vestan became enslaved by a demon called The Gruagach, but Treguard returned to slay Vestan and defeat the demon by successfully beating the challenge in the Dungeon with Folly's help.

Treguard conquered the Dungeon in Can you beat the challenge (first Knightmare book) with the help of Folly.

Re:Treyguard
How Treguard mastered the Dungeon was explained in the first game book (half of it was a novel and the other half was a choose-your-own-adventure-style game). He did it with the help of Folly but he wasn't blindfolded.
Subject to change.

Re:Treyguard
What I want to know, is how he conquers the dungeon if it keeps changing? Does he conquer it in his own time?

Re:Treyguard
Malefact is correct. What came to be known as Knightmare Castle was actually called Dunshelm. It belonged to Treguard by birthright, but it was inhabited by a powerful demon/sorceror who had brought about the deaths of countless knights and adventurers by pitting them against the horrors of his keep. Treguard was embroiled in a heated clan war, and after avenging the death of his murdered parents, took up the Knightmare Challenge, accompanied by Folly.
After surviving the horrors of the dungeon, Treguard defeated the demon sorcerer and was convinced by Folly to become the new Dungeon Master, fair and chivarlous. So although Treguard was the first one to master the dungeon, he was in fact the second Dungeon Master - the Grugurach (or whatever his name was) was the first.
If you can track down the books, check 'em out - they're actually a very good read (though the 'Choose Your Own Adventure' mini-book in the first novella was a bit dismal). They provide a fascinating backstory to Treguard, who is actaully a much more well-developed and complex character than the show would ever have been able to portray.

Dunshelm was stolen from Treguard's family, some ten years before he returned to reclaim it, by a Lord from Brittany called Vestan, who murdered Baron Dunshelm (Treguard's father). Vestan was enslaved by the demon, who was called the GRUAGACH, before he was slain by Treguard.
