More recently, I saw the following clue for a cryptic crossword:
Done messing with gun: prison the result (7)
The answer was dungeon.

The
Word Watch quiz in today's Times asks whether the definition of Pooka is:
a. Excellent
b. A smoking apparatus
c. A sprite or hobgoblin
I'm trying not to imagine one saying, "I'm excellent! I'll tell you about my smoking apparatus!"
