International

Knightmare spawned at least two international spin-offs

In the early 1990s, two spin-offs of Knightmare were created: Le Chevalier du Labyrinthe for French television and El Rescate del Talisman for Spanish television.

These used many of the same dungeon rooms and puzzles as Knightmare. But there were key differences too, such as a new team appearing each week.

There was also interest from German and US producers. A single-episode pilot called 'Lords of the Game' was made in Norwich featuring American contestants.
