I had a silly idea... List of song parodies

Post by Mashibinbin » Tue Mar 14, 2006 10:47 pm

Wednesday 05 November 2003

What were you doing that night? I, for one, was in a restaurant in Shanghai with a teacher colleague, her boyfriend and some of our mutual friends. That night over in the UK, this thread made its' beginning with a makeover for 'Bohemian Rhapsody.'

Now, 286 replies and 4270 views later we've got a lorra lorra filks/ songfics/song parodies/creative entries on this thread. So much so, that I decided to make a list of all the numbers done to date.

This I did, with the assistance and dedication of Billy who has also provided for you the Original release year along with the artist. Where there is a number following an artists name this is to indicate how many parodies have been of that artist up until that item. The same goes for the numbers following the years.

In some cases excerpts have been included where were deemed long enough but inevitably a few fell by the wayside at our discretion. Now, ladies, pookas and gentle-men here they all are and may there be many more to come!
Carpe Diem - sieze the moment.

Just to inform people, as it's not been mentioned in this thread yet, that a list of songs parodied can be found in the Lexicon, here. It is a more up-to-date version of the list on Pages 20-21 of this thread.

Please add new entries to the dedicated subforum for this.

Many thanks to Emil for the original idea, and has been awarded an 'acorns' medal :)
