Missed the Bluescreen (parody of Mr. Blue Sky by ELO)

Post by Drassil »

In honour of Knightmare's return, a rewording of Mr. Blue Sky by ELO (lyrics, video). It's a song you may remember from Doctor Who episode Love & Monsters. If I've upset you by mentioning that, think instead of your love for Knightmare's monsters.

Knightmare's made with chromakey
It's not reality
Yet we're fearing
Twists and turns of dungeoneering
And we know
It's our key to Saturday

Walking past the screens of blue
That we can't see, quite rightly
Treguard's gritty
Saying, "Oh dear, what a pity,
never mind." Why did he go away?

Missed the bluescreen
It's been nineteen
Years. Knightmare's been away for so long (so long)
And that's oh so wrong
X2

Hey you with the helmet on
Knightmare is no longer gone
Jubilation
For the bluescreens up there waiting
And the horseman is riding to the door

Missed the bluescreen
It's been nineteen
Years. Knightmare's been away for so long (so long)
And that's oh so wrong

Hey there, Mr. Child
We were watchers, how we smiled
It was cancelled, we were riled
Now it's back, we're going wild
X2

Missed the bluescreen
X3

Welcome back to Hugo Myatt
And here comes Mr. Knight
Bigger, bolder
And he's also slightly older
Tiny mind, won't surrender no no
Won't surrender no no way

Missed the bluescreen
It's been nineteen
Years. Knightmare's been away for so long (so long)
And that's oh so wrong

Hey there, Mr. Child
We were watchers, how we smiled
It was cancelled, we were riled
Now it's back, we're going wild

No... turn... ing... back... now...

Wow! Your song parodies are always very good, but this one strikes me as particularly brilliant. As well as the lyrical genius, it's an inspired choice of song that fits the mood of the occasion perfectly. :)
