Re: Series 4 - Episode 16
I, likewise, noticed it was 30 years this, 'Christmas', Drassil... and I was thinking about remarking on the KM reference I noticed in the lyrics to, 'Deck the Halls', a few days ago. As often happens with this time of the year, though, that would have jarred with the more earnest reflections you re...

Hi James,
Thank you for drawing my attention to this; alas, the video seems no longer to be available six months on.
Best wishes,
Brett

Re: Series 4 Episode 14
Hi asrl07, I agree with everything you said about that room! In the case of our team, we did train using clock face instructions in the garden, but in episode 16 Giles was very close to the falling area and so he 'died' on the first take because (as you say) it's not fair to start so close when most...

Re: Series 4 - Episode 16
Dear Morghanna, Thank you for your insightful and sympathetic reflections (it was Andrew who said, "write that down", in fact - and probably not for the first time!). "It has been stated that team 8 failed the block&tackle, but were allowed to continue. However, there was little l...

Re: Series 4, Episode 11
I tend to think Fatilla's two references to, "old skull-face" (he says something similar to team 7) were a proto-reference to Lord Fear, Morghanna. In episode 16, Brother Mace said, "People round here don't like being spied on by magic shields; I must tell you!" which also antici...

Re: Series 4 Episode 10
The Series IV Adventurer's Code referred to neutral characters, which it seems would include Melly and Gundrada (probably Mistress Goody, too) - noting that, at first, you wouldn't know who fitted into which category (the implication being, perhaps, that you might like quickly to find out or decide)...

Re: Series 4 Episode 3
In many ways, when you think about it, this is a classic fiendish Knightmare puzzle: as an adviser, there's little you can do except to suggest the timing of your dungeoneer's vault; as the dungeoneer, blindfolded and launching off - as Drassil put it - a roundabout. It was the only scene we filmed ...

Re: Series 4 Episode 3
Giles (team 8 dungeoneer) mentioned he noticed the whirr of the motor from the beginning of the scene, before filming started - but the machinery could have had an analogue speed setting that was set slightly differently each time the device was set up.

Re: Series 4 - Episode 1
Hi Morghanna, I agree with you about the Weeping Doors. Not so slow when you're actually playing the game and under pressure to get the correct answers, but a bit of a drag to watch at home. If the misery-mood were changed to something more dynamic, it would perhaps have been more enjoyable viewing....

Re: Questions for Brett (Series 4 Team 8)
Hi everyone,
I am sorry for the delay in responding to these questions and comments: I hope you are all well …
Unfortunately, I don't remember what I received for Christmas 1990, Drassil. I enjoyed reading your remarks and on Ernie and Erik, Mashibinin, too.
Best wishes,
Brett

Questions for Brett (Series 4 Team 8)
Hi AriadnesLayer, Thank you for your questions: I have enjoyed revisiting our quest, nearly thirty years on from that gilded age of adventures. In these troubled months with the Covid-19 pandemic, it's just a shame the fabled Cup that Heals remains unretrieved to this day ... >> You mentioned in a p...

Hi Ariadne's Layer,
E.g. towards the end of episode 15.
Yep, you can ask me some questions ...

I think it would have summoned a FrightKnight from that series.
