A new Knightmare FAQ

Post by HStorm »

GG and I were discussing this on the General board...

What about a new, comprehensive, total and utter everything-you-ever-wanted-to-know-about-Knightmare-but-were-too-busy-shivering-with-fear-behind-the-sofa-as-the-ghosts-closed-in-on-the-dungeoneer-to-ask? I'd even be prepared to compile and write it if you like.

The present FAQ on the site is okay only as an intro, and while most of the info is actually on-site, it's not in the best form for a pure Q&A reference thingummy. (It could even include that "Anorak's Corner" that I suggested a while back.)

I'd probably need a lot of help with this, but I'm sure I can count on other users' help for research info?

Let me know what you think, everyone...

We do, but like I said above, it's only really an intro. I'm talking about doing something far more IN-DEPTH. Sort of like everything on the site, plus any gaps filled in, but reorganised into a Q&A form. It'll be less a viewing guide than Illusion's site, but more easy-to-reference in design.

Nice one. It will definitely be interesting to see how this new FAQ system works out.  8)

Because we're talking about something far more thorough, I think we'd call it the "Knightmare FANSFAQ"  -  Frequently And Not-So-Frequently-Asked Questions.

It'd just be divided into sections, and each section would be devoted to a particular subject and would have common questions or more obscure questions that get asked from time-to-time. I'd try to provide as complete an answer as I can. A bit like NKTP's old Ask Alex section, only the questions wouldn't be random points of curiosity.

Certainly this wouldn't be anything like as aesthetically pleasing as everything Illusion's done on the main site, but then it would work more as a reference guide than an exploration of the world and soul of Knightmare.

I think this is a rather good idea. It might be worth including some Knightmare facts and figures e.g. longest scene, shortest quest, which I have never got round to creating.

Okay everyone, I've got the format and structure for the FANSFAQ sorted out, more or less, up to a point, in a manner of speaking, I just haven't got much by the way of questions.

I think I've got most of the obvious ones that have to be asked covered. I just need to sort out what more obscure sub-questions to concentrateon.

If you have any questions you think should be included, please post them here or e-mail them to me. Thanks.

Re: A new Knightmare FAQ

Well, here's a list of most of the ones I've thought up so far...

What-mare?

Has
Knightmare ever been released on video?

Do you know anyone who has episodes on video who could make copies for me? (!)

Is there an easy way to tell one season from another?

Who played THAT character?

Don't I recognise that actor/actress from...?

Is there anywhere I can contact this person from the series?

I can remember a character but I just CAN'T think what their name was...

Are there any KM fan clubs?

Where can I get KM merchandise?

Is there anywhere on the Internet I can meet/talk with other fans of the series?

What is...
     KMChat?
     NKTP?
     KMRPG?
     KMBS?
     OTS/RPF?

A few notes on Netiquette...

So how do spells work anyway?

Did puzzles have names?

Er... technosorcerer?

What's the relationship between Mogdred and Merlin?

Where'd this Lord Fear guy come from anyway? And isn't that guy on the horse the same actor?

Was
Knightmare ever broadcast outside the UK?

I'll be quite happy to cover some of those questions if you need any extra information in certain places, especially NKTP/RPG/Chat.

Yes, as I said before, I think it's a good idea. I'll have a think about other suitable questions when I'm a bit less tired. :D
