LOL. Please, not the "Sup" ones! People say that to me all the time, mostly because it annoys the heck out of me, I think. I do like some of the others, although I'm currently having withdrawal symptoms for "Oh, hello there". It was just the image of someone like Leslie Phillips or Charles Hawtrey standing in the Forum Antechamber saying it as we entered each time that amused me. :)

That and it was very pleasant.

People round my way (Preston) like to say 'ELLO!' in a ver Parrot-seque fashion. Not me though.

I should hope not!

It was pleasant. And I'm sure we could link Charles Hawtrey and Knightmare... somehow, just to prove it's ever so appropriate a greeting for the KM forum.

Easy to link... Hawtrey didn't really die. He simply lost interest in his career and put on a mountain of weight, and then got a job on KM starring as Rothberry the Apothecary. The glasses give it away.

An actor. A dead actor. A camp dead actor. Well, he was camp when he was alive. I doubt it really shows so much in his present less than alive state. He was probably most famous for being in a lot of the Carry On films.

Charlie was so camp, I am quite sure it wold carry on even when ceased.

He died in 1988, starred in a good number of CO films and was in Supergran, although I admit I am not entirely sure what the latter is (or indeed 'was')

You MUST know Supergran, Kieran! It was the best show on CITV till Knightmare arrived. Billy Connolly doing the title song, altogether now...

"Stand back, Superman, Ice Man, Spiderman,
Batman and Robin too,
The one who caused the ruckus -
BA Barracus,
Won't be a match for you.
She makes them look like a bunch of fairies,
Got more bottle than United Dairies...
Hang about!
Look out!
For Supergran!"

It looks like it was just an isolated Hawtrey guest appearance:

Blimey, Supergran - that's a blast from the very distant past. I remember watching it in May 1987 around the time my sister was born. I guess I caught it at the end of its run. Being four years old at the time it ranks as one of my earliest memories.

Regarding guest appearences, George Best made a very brief cameo in the second episode (I know because I have the first three on tape).

Btw, a very good Mr Majeika site is:
