The Eye Shield "Issue 71"

Post by TheOldenDays »

A very special "audio issue" of The Eye Shield fanzine is coming soon to Martin Harder's Temporal Discussion podcast (viewtopic.php?p=57839#p57839) starring Martin Harder, Paul McIntosh and Jake Collins, and featuring (in a prime example of "fair use") John Woodnutt as Merlin.

I've only just had a chance to listen to this episode. Lovely stuff - I never get tired of hearing about people's memories and feelings toward Knightmare. Those wilderness years before the Challenge repeats really were a sad time. I thought there was no chance I would ever get to see Knightmare again (I didn't even know about people having recorded it!) and it was kind of heartbreaking because I desperately wanted to. We're so, so lucky it did get repeated after all!

As for TES, I wasn't aware of it until I did finally see Knightmare again and then came looking for a fan community, but it was such a delight to read through all the existing issues and the new ones as they came out. It was a sad day when the fanzine had run its course and came to an end, and now I feel the same gratitude for Temporal Discussion - long may it continue. :)

I really enjoyed making this "audio issue" of TES, at both the recording and editing stages. I think it's fair to say that all three of us got a lot out of the discussion on a personal level, and in the end it turned out to be a truly special episode of Temporal Discussion.

By the way, the final result of The Big Issue was a win for "No" by 10 votes to 5, including the three that were cast on the podcast itself. This is about what I was expecting, but as promised, I found it very interesting to monitor the results as they came in.
