The Perfect Series
I think a perfect series would have all the colour, puzzles and tension of series 3, plus a series 4-style final conflict and a series 5-style life force emergency when redeeming the quest object. What do you lot think?

Re: The Perfect Series
Well, of course! That goes without saying. But since we're saying it, it must have Treguard, Lord Fear, Motley and Sylvester Hands and Hordriss at least. I think it would also be a good idea to have Mogdred (or at least a Mogdred-style baddie) as well. Lord Fear only confronts dungeoneers at the very end. Mogdred can confront them anywhere which is very unnerving!

Re: The Perfect Series
Thinking about it some more, I think each of the three levels should be a challenge in themselves in that:
Level 1 should be a collection/miscellany of rooms and puzzles a la series 1/2/3 - like a sort of 'training' level.
Level 2 should have puzzles but should present the team with a more consistent threat - something that follows them from room to room. Like, for example, a labyrinthe haunted by an evil magician. It could culminate in a series 4-style final encounter where the dungeoneer only survives if, say, they recover all the letters of a spell (placed in hard-to-reach spots in rooms with obstacles, which they must take before the magician catches them up).
Level 3 should have lots of very difficult puzzles, a final encounter with Lord Fear and a life force emergency.
Above all, the perfect series should have the feeling of grand scale that series 3 and 4 had - a kind of empty or deserted feeling but with the faint feeling that something's there. Just like a real dungeon.
Oh, and it must have a life force clock face!
OK, I'm done. ;)

Oh, you should just know there's going to be a very very very very long post from me on this thread sooner or later. Have you no sympathy for people's eyes, Malefact?

"Sometimes of the Grey, but always of the Green, dearie. Shurrup Brollachan! Have you seen Festus, my dear? I need to take him back to Cornwall. " [cackle]

Re: The Perfect Series
Dont dispare Malefact I was just pulling your leg, but on a more serious note. When you listted the characters they should have in a newer series "it must have Treguard, Lord Fear, Motley and Sylvester Hands and Hordriss" I was shocked to see that you missed out Lilth and granitarse. Although I think that it would be best if they missed out the jester, dont you.

No! It must have a jester! It wouldn't be the same without one.

Re: The Perfect Series
Then why do you need two accounts. Can you not make your point with just one?
