The Dunshelm Players: Famous For Retreating
On November 4th, a new KM spin-off production will be made available for people to download, when the first ever audio play based in the universe of the Greater Game is released.
Two and a half years in development, the play is called Famous For Retreating, and features the following cast; -
Treguard.....................................Russell Odoni
Stiletta/Salvania......................Eleanor Booth-Davey
Lord Fear/Honesty Bartram.....................Martin Odoni ('HStorm')
Majida/Heggatty..............................Sue McPherson ('Madmogsue')
Skarkill/Merlin.................................Alec Downs ('Modeski')
Elita/Greystagg.............................Clare Speedie ('Willowherb')
Lady Brinkatore/Mellisandre................Vivienne Traill
The play was directed by Andrew Kenny, AKA 'Snowcat', and Neal Sawyer of the SAE Institute in Glasgow, and was written by myself with the aid of Ricky Temple, AKA 'Skarkill'.

Click on the above link to download a 3-minute trailer for the play.
(At some time early next year, the play will be remixed completely and re-released as an audio CD. Watch this space for news on that.)
If anyone has any questions about Famous For Retreating, please post them here.

Re:COMING SOON FROM FREEBIEVILLE...
Well, two and a half years ago was when the script was first drafted. Recording was a little while later...
But yeah, 'twas fun, especially meeting Queen Greyskull. :o (Private joke.)

Re:COMING SOON FROM FREEBIEVILLE...
I know I've already replied to the thread on the NKTP forum... but I'm looking forward to hearing the full version; despite being sceptical to begin with, the trailer has swung me!

Re:COMING SOON FROM FREEBIEVILLE...
Well I hope the play lives up to the promise, but remember that trailers can be deceptive; they're often more entertaining than what they advertise. It's partly because the constant shifting from one brief snippet to the next leads you to think that the story is going to be a lot faster-paced than it really is, partly because weaker material is deliberately not included in trailers, but mainly because your imagination 'fills in the gaps' incorrectly, making you think the tangents you're getting a very brief glimpse of are deeper and more sophisticated than they really are.
For sure the cast and crew are generally happy with what we did on the AP, and we feel it's very good for a first time out, but even so when you get to hear it you'll still notice plenty of flaws in it.
Time, to coin a cliche, will tell.

Famous For Retreating - Audio Play now available
The play is now available. Please go to www.kmramdram.co.uk/ to download it. (In case you're wondering 'KM RAmDram' stands for Knightmare Radio Amateur Drama.)
It's being released in five parts, and to make them easier to download, they have been compressed to a lower bitrate than the original source recordings; there's an occasional dip in sound quality as a result, but nothing major.
The files can be downloaded direct from the server - big thanks to Forester for hosting them - or if you are any good with file-sharing you can take the strain off the server-bandwidth by downloading them through a BitTorrent we've set up. (If you download via the Torrent, please leave it open for seeding afterwards.)
You are free to download and distribute the play to anyone you feel would be interested in hearing it, but please do not make any modifications to it without consulting us first.
If you have any feedback or questions, please post them here, or email them to kmramdram@tiscali.co.uk.
Remember, this opening release of the play is effectively a prototype only. The 'definitive' version will be unveiled in CD form some time next year.

Re:Famous For Retreating - Audio Play now available
Download it, it's awesome!
I am a little biased, as I played Merlin and Skarkill in the play.
Also, for those of you too lazy to go exploring, here are the direct links for torrents/files:
Here is the trailer
The torrent of all five parts (42mb) (If you get a "This torrent is not allowed on this tracker." error, manually change the tracker in your client to this: http://tracker2.bt-chat.com/announce )
And Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4 and Part 5 for direct download.

To (mis)quote the bard:
"Do you raise your thumb at me sir?"
"no but I do raise my thumb!"
Excellent and Stirling work
