Interesting trailer. it doesn't look as much like anime as the original did, in my opinion - but some of the drawing, like Tao's mouth when he screams after Zia lands on his foot, recalls that original style. I wonder which production company's making this version of MCOG?

Also, not really happy with a mechanical machine in this time period!

Welcome! I loved MCOG as a kid too, though I don't remember it half as well as Knightmare.

Now this i CAN help on!
unlike series 1 [which was a co production between the french company DiC Entertainment and the Japanese animation compay studio Studio Pierrot] for series 2 its entirely a french production between the television channel TF1, the French animation company Blue Spirit and series 1's writer Jean Chalopin's company Movie-Plus Group.

Welcome aboard.

I have the full MCoG on DVD. Was always captivated by it when I was at school (still am up to a point), although the animation sure looks a lot choppier and more static these days, thanks to seeing more modern cartoons subsequently.

There's still a lot to take from the series; Mendoza is a shockingly ambiguous figure for what's essentially a kids' programme, but perhaps the most fascinating aspect is suddenly realising what a manipulative, double-crossing, little b*stard Esteban is. Never noticed it when I was watching as a kid, but watch it now, and study his behaviour closely - what a little sociopath!

Yes, hello and welcome. I am dark Descender, romanticist, femenist and also from Oop North although I'm a Yorkshire lad rather than Stoke on trent and I don't remember ever watching Mysterious Cities, but it sounds jolly interesting and oh my, this soup is delicious, don't you agree?

Enjoy yourself.

Shark's fin soup, according to the maid. I was going to advise slurping it noisily but there's a Series 3 dungeoneer in the bowl.
