Right path...left path?
Did the 2 paths really differ in difficulty?

Re: Right path...left path?
Theoretically, they were supposed to. However, not being able to see what was hidden behind the right hand door, one could never ascertain the difference. However, certainly where no indication was given to avoid the right hand path, particularly in earlier series', the bomb rooms would provide indication that a wrong path has been chosen.
There are several examples, one being Ross' S3 quest, where it appeared the team has been shepherded into the left hand path in level 3, and that might have been more dangerous. Again, though, with this room to be used, there's nothing saying that the right hand path would not have lead to the same room.
In later series, I take the descender as the principal example - when given a choice with a frightknight above the right hand door - that was such an ambiguous symbol about whether that route was more dangerous or not, that it seemed whatever route was no more particularly dangerous for level 3 than the other. It's all a question that's based on assumptions and the theory you could apply to the adventurer's code.

When given the choice of the left door or the right door with a frightknight above it was always a decision of wether thats a sign or the oppostion playing tricks... : :o

Re: Right path...left path?
I distinctly remember one team that deliberately took the door with the FrightKnight over it after going down in the Decender. The advisers were discussing whether they should take the FrightKnight door or not, and eventually decided to take it. Needless to say, they didn't succeed eventually. Perhaps the FrightKnight door put the team in 'losing' status?
There was another occasion where two doors (I think) appeared when the Decender stopped, and they BOTH had FrightKnights over them! :o

Now Im going to cause some spin here!
Surely taking the more dangerous doors should be the better route as the dungeoneer would be doing more adventuring! Whats the point in always taking the easy path?

And on topic (while I think about it...), the door to level 3 always had a frightnight above it if there was only 1 in the descender.

I wonder of the left door in the room of choice made any difference.

Sometimes taking the left path could be fatal - series 1, team 1, for example.

Re: Right path...left path?
Didnt they loose mainly because they picked up a wrong clue object (the talisman and not the lamp) perhaps they were supposed to just remember the symbol and take the other 2 objects for use against lilith and the darkness.

No, that team were complete idiots. The wall-monster said "Justice lies on the right", presumably meaning to take the right hand door, but for some reason they took the left door.
