Re: Kids' TV Champ - Radio Times vote
I plan to do some Java programming tonight to see if I can fix things. Anyone wanting the software (if I can make it) is welcome to it

Hope so Alan, it's frustrating to vote and the % goes down rather than up, what a shame

Re: Kids' TV Champ - Radio Times vote
Actually it might be a fair loss. I notice that the sooty Facebook page asked people to vote about an hour ago. They have x10 more followers than us.
So it's quite possibly a fair surge of support. Based on Facebook workings, I round expect it to abate in the next hour or so, at which point we should try a counter offensive.

The sooty FB page is an interesting read - they're taking this poll v seriously!
They offer the 'unlocking' of content for each round sooty gets through, encourage people to vote multiple times by refreshing the page and even told people to vote for looney tunes in the last round to give sooty an easier semi final!
This means war! They warn their fans about an active KM community so let's show them they have something to worry about!

Jeez, some people really want Sooty to win. Every Knightmare fan needs to vote as much as they possibly can!

Which FB page is that? A non official one?
Can't seem to see such comments on the official sooty page

Ah I think I found it. It's a non official page.
Interestingly they seem to be saying that if you vote too often you get a message telling you to take a break. Can anyone confirm? If so, it would appear to be evidence that multiple voting is permitted and I would be happy to encourage it

Re: Kids' TV Champ - Radio Times vote
Yes, it lets you vote a few dozen times and then blocks you for a "cooling off period" of an hour or two. It's clearly designed to allow multiple votes up to a certain limit, so I don't see why we shouldn't. If they wanted to prevent re-voting they could easily have implemented that.

Re: Kids' TV Champ - Radio Times vote
Does it actually tell you about the cooling off period?

Yes, you get a popup message saying that.

Re: Kids' TV Champ - Radio Times vote
Can we figure out the cool down period?

Hmm, think I've found a way round the cool down period - but maybe that's going too far!

Re: Kids' TV Champ - Radio Times vote
I remain confused at how they are able to effect a big swing in the votes so quickly. We surge ahead and they knock it back down within a minute or two.
