Unintended Knightmare references in adverts
Greetings all,
Long time no post however I have spotted something rather interesting whilst sharing old TV advert memories in chat.
Whilst viewing a link to an old Weetabix advert dated around 1991, I happened to notice a familiar looking chair, watch carefully.

It would be exciting to find out whether it really is

Ah, I remember that advert - it was brilliant! Now I remember recognising Treguard's chair in it at the time. That chair does pop up occasionally - I remember seeing it and Grimaldine's green staff in an episode of The Worst Witch in the late 1990s!

I know, it looks just like the chair.
I'm a better Robin Hood, though.

Re:Knightmare references
We know from the first Knightmare book that Treguard and Robin Hood were allies, so perhaps he returned later and stole the chair for Treguard.
Here's another classic advert with an unintended Knightmare reference:

Re:Knightmare references
It's a very thin reference, though! By that logic, you could clam that every time your name is mentioned, it's a Knightmare reference.

Re:Knightmare references
Many of the contributions to this thread are more reminders than references, and tenuous or not, that was the vein in which I submitted my latest: simply, I heard it and it made me think of Knightmare. You might find it more satisfying to offer some yourself than to nitpick others'.

There's a Melisandre (sic) in Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire.

I saw a version of this Senokot advert and was immediately reminded of Knightmare! One of the lesser known perils of dungeoneering...

I had the same thought, both recently and seven years ago. That hidden banana at the beginning of Series 4 may not have been as random as it seemed.

There's a sequence near the beginning of the new IKEA advert that reminds me of the Elita/BAG scene (as opposed to the floating skull/BAG scene ) in Series 5.

I was doubly amused to see this during the ad break before Knightmare just now!Drassil wrote:Earlier, I saw an advert for Senokot. A woman was asked to imagine that a handbag represented her stomach, and she proceeded to put food in the bag!

The shorter version of Bleu de Chanel advert The Film has a reference to Grimaldine's brotherhood on the clapperboard.

It is. Her 2016 ads showreel confirms it.I wrote:Is that Series 4 Team 3 advisor Katharine Bennett-Fox in the latest Plenty advert?
I'm not certain enough to do an article for the website, but it looks like Katharine in the Domino's Winter Survival Deal advert too.
