Dungeons that only made one appearence
Dungeons that only made one appearence
Hi
I'm sure there were a few rooms that only appeared once, more so in the earlier series. how many of these rooms were there? let me know if I'm wrong!!
1. The catacomb with the big green floating bullfrog thing.
2. The catacomb with the swinging pendulum.
did these rooms only appear once?

Re: Dungeons that only made one appearence
if by the room with the swinging pendulum you mean the one at the end of Series 4 Episode 1 then it wasnt actually used at all in the English series. It was however used in the French Version...

Re: Dungeons that only made one appearence
sorry whitedevil, that was not the room I was referring to, maybe I explained it wrong!
The corridor I was thinking of was from either series 1 or 2 and had what i can only describe as a big ball swinging to and fro.
also, I was only referring to the UK shows, but it's interesting to hear about the foreign ones too as I've not seen them.

If so, then yes, according to the series guide at least, this room was only used once in Knightmare, on Series 2, Team 8's quest.

There was the thing in series 4 where the ceiling started to fall down as the dungeoneer went along the weeping drawbridge

And that team was blatently let off, as you can see that she had at least another 3 steps to go before she got out of the room - yet she did not die...There was the thing in series 4 where the ceiling started to fall down as the dungeoneer went along the weeping drawbridge

Re: Dungeons that only made one appearence
i dont really think it was much of a trap just a tension builder.
if they had pulled em up on it then it would have been most unfair considering no other team had to escape it. with dooris, you get the q's right, you live. the ceiling was just for our benfefit

There is also a room in series 3 that was only used once (Morghana's ledge). The team that went there died, too.

Slightly off the topic, but only slightly though. There once I think that the room that led to the long green cavern path (s3) I think led to an actual room. I know the team ended up in a room, but they took the left hand door and not the one straight ahead though! I think that it was Martin's team. Anyway it was the dungeoneer who had to help Velda.

I hope I'm thinking of the same thing you are, but team 12 in series 3 also took the left-hand path there as well.

Probably was team twelve then (can't remember though). Usually the room displayed the long green cavern path in the background, but on that occasin the background was black and so we could see nothing in the background!

Re: Dungeons that only made one appearence
Hey If I'm not mistaken, that room you're referring to (without the cavern path beyond it) was also used in Series 2. I can remember at least occasion when it appeared as Ariadne's lair (Team 2 I think), where the team were hoping in their panic to take the left hand path, but a sudden web appearing over the top leading to them taking the centre path.
Rather obvious additions - the final 'joke-for-a-challenge' causeway in S5 was only encountered by the winning team, and also the great causeway was encountered my more than one team, the whole 'realm' of the Last Dungeons was only seen by Ben as well. The atmosphere and environment of the latter stages of that quest especially were fantastic. Saw Adrian Neil have a piece of the action as well.
