An incomprehensibly long, dull and pointless game. It lasts five days, and never seems to start.

How many times have you played it HStorm?

It's a good game to get used to but, yes, I'd rather play it than watch it!!!  ;D
If the only way is onward how would you get home for tea?? :-/

I played it loads of times at school, and my Dad was a semi-pro player.

I hated playing even more than watching because of fielding. At least when you're in the stands you can sit down while you're doing nothing!

One of the pluses about moving to Scotland when I was a kid (of which there were not all that many) was that they don't play cricket up there.

As coincidence would have it, Liza, my response when they say, "And now on Sky Sports 1, Test Cricket from the West Indies" is usually, "Oh I'm sorry, there's this big wall of fresh paint that I've got to watch drying." That or "I'm too busy watching the furniture assembly from Ikea."

(Or indeed any other distributor of household furniture - note from the lawyers.)
