My verson of what happened between S4 and S5 is that he's dead. And because Mogdred is the dark side of Merlin's own nature, he died with him.

End of story. Well not quite...

Anyway, I put it on fanfic net.

The "Oooh....... Nasty!" catchphrase is cool! And Im glad Treguard had it!

Its like Leslie Phillips, whenever you see him on TV you just want him to say "Oooh...Hello" or "Ding Dong!" etc!

I think the same applies to Treggsy, its his own personal gimmick!

Yes, in a way, I guess a lot of these little talking points must have really helped popularize the show in playgrounds around the country. To be honest, if he had ever stopped saying it, I bet there'd be threads on this board complaining about the fact and saying it was  somehow linked to the ultimate demise of the show.

Hey, no one's suggesting he should've STOPPED saying it, just not overuse it so much, and most importantly, stop over-embellishing the delivery the way he did in S8.

LOL, over embellishment!  :D

I just thought of Treggsy delivering the line like this;

"OOOOOOooooh...........Nasty!"

That would be over embellishment!

LOL, yes, when if it had got to Series 54 and he'd run out of other variations.

Just thinking though as "Oooh Nasty" was scripted by Hugo Myatt early on, was it then scripted by the production team later on? and is that why he seemed to be forcing it?

It wasn't scripted as far as I know. Hugo coined it for Daniel's death in the bomb room in S1, and again during the Folly v Cedric insults thing. From there he just used it more and more frequently, and it really struck a chord with people.

I was never bothered by 'Ooh, nasty'. (Do people still remember the 'Ooh, nice tea' joke that I posted last year?) But, by Series 8, I felt that Hordriss' use of the pronoun 'one' was excessive, and no longer intimidating. Perhaps he should have spoken more Latin...
