Re: KMBS, "Where is everyone?"
Well, I've just too often seen such things degenerate into farce. If people's common sense cannot be relied upon to avoid such happening, you need rules. People might think rules would stop people joining and contributing, but in this case I think it actually has made more people join in and enjoy it because it's meant it's been much more realistic. A lot of the people I know who have looked upon some of the other KM Roleplay things as slightly farcical because people lose track of sense are really enjoying this one.

Well I hope my roleplay is alright. I am modding it after all and a tutor at KMBS. I do hope to see you around some time GG and you also Moana.

As I've said, I definitely will if Moana will, teehee. (Sorry Moana!) I'll have to invent a character, however. I wouldn't want to transplant my identity here, especially since it wouldn't fit in the slightest.

Nah, I think I'd go for something a little less... unusual. While I'm proud of my incarnation here and enjoy RPing it here and there, part of the fun with it is to occasionally make the RP deliberately bad, which I wouldn't want to take over to the other forum. Much better to create something new and less far-reaching, I think.

I've always had magic! What's the problem? Besides... Was that cell incident a way of getting rid of me or something?
If the only way is onward how would you get home for tea??

Re: KMBS, "Where is everyone?"
The trouble with some magic is that it tends to escalate in power, so soon you end up with people using all sorts of awesomely powerful magic on a whim. It often tends to go hand in hand with the cartoon-type violence, which while fine in its own place, isn't always very realistic. Yes, KM is fantasy, but it was also good because there was some degree of realism to it. You got the impression that for most people, any piece of magic was a valuable commodity. Unless you were a powerful mage, you wouldn't have allsorts of spells on hand for every situation.

We aren't trying to get rid of you, Mots. Stop jumping to conclusions. The rules on spells are generally common sense, so even though they weren't up at the time, its kind of easy to work out what you should and shouldn't use - jesters are not mages, they are entertainers!!!
Also, I'm still doubting that you have read the rules fully.
And, lastly, I can't get rid of you unless you break certain rules a certain number of times (ALSO IN THE RULES) and I don't want that to happen EVER.

Okay Motley, cool it.
*SLAPS GLENN ACROSS THE FACE A FEW TIMES TO CALM THE HYSTERICS.*
What do you mean you don't understand the context?
You've got to work your way out of the room you're trapped in. Think like a dungeoneer! Have you tried SEARCHING the room. Give it a go.

Re: KMBS, "Where is everyone?"
Don't throw a tantrum, Mots. It's quite simple, when explained.
Myself, or sometimes other more experienced players will set storylines involving a quest to find something, defend something, attack something and so on and so forth. It is the players' jobs to work through it by interacting with each other, so if one person put a post saying they had picked up a random magical object, you could make a post saying "No! Don't do that, it might be dangerous!" and from there you can battle it out verbally until you come to a conclusion.
Reps and Mods may put in obstacles that split up groups if they are hunting together, and you have to roleplay your way back to them as well as carry on with the quest.
Does that help? Anyone able to help me explain further?

Re: KMBS, "Where is everyone?"
Suddenly inventing spells on the spot that can get you out of the situation you just happen to be in is cheating, Glenn. It's okay for those cartoon games that Snowwie enjoys playing, but it's spoiling the story if you make it so easy for the players to get out of things. It's like someone in Eastenders waving a magic wand and bringing Dirty Den back to life... er okay, bad example!
But it's not very inventive and it's actually very unimaginative. Try and be sly, try and be clever, otherwise it'll get boring for everyone else real quick.

Re: KMBS, "Where is everyone?"
That's MUCH better - well done! All I have to say to you now is 'read the rules'
You have to be careful because if you break too many rules or make excuses for your mistakes, you can end up being banned. So, in short, it really is worth a read!!!
