Nitpicky-picky-pickyyyy...
This is really piffling a matter, but Illusion, can you change it so we don't have the greeting 'Happy Knew Year, Member' message? It's just....it's not the New Year, and I hate things looking out of date on the Internet.
Sorry.
Sorry.

I wholeheartedly second that! It's been getting on my nerves for over a week now.

Re: Nitpicky-picky-pickyyyy...
I have been thinking about when it's going to dissappear since about a week after the Knew Year. Where nearly into February though in about two days time, so it really is getting a bit out dated although maybe not sinse we did have... the past couple of days. Sorry I better not say the S word incase I depress Emii even more. It sounded like we had a bit of a rain downpoor a little while ago, so any last bit of ice has been melted. Anyway back to the topic!

"Oh hello there" sounds a teensy bit Charles Hawtry, but it's nice to be back in the land of chronological exactitude.
Thanks Illusion!

The replacement is excellently cheery, and I can't see it wearing out.

I was starting to feel like time had begun to stand still. Just curiously, is there a way Illusion, that you could set something up for members on their birthday (who have put their dob on their profile), so that they get a happy birthday greeting. Or would that be impossible or very complicated? Note I am trying to setup a webpage but don't know much about setting one up from scratch, hence the problems I am having.

Being greeted by a cross between Charles Hawtree and Julian Clary is not what I imagined this site would ever have....
Hmm, maybe I nshould change my name to 'Sandy'?

I like the fact that the Forum says 'Oh hello there, Drassil' whenever I log in, as if it's pleasantly surprised to see me... ::)
When it's your birthday, a birthday cake appears on your profile page. I noticed this with Malefact's profile last year.Just curiously, is there a way Illusion, that you could set something up for members on their birthday (who have put their dob on their profile), so that they get a happy birthday greeting. Or would that be impossible or very complicated?

Considering this is supposed to be around a dungeon setting, with plenty of skulls :-[ it is certainly friendly.
I really do like the new greeting. Thanks Illusion.

Well, I'm glad you like it.
As far as I know the forum does not have a feature to display a birthday greeting.

Re: Nitpicky-picky-pickyyyy...
I've seen it coded on compatible forums elsewhere for a list of members celebrating a birthday to be listed at the bottom of the page, underneath those logged in currently.
I rather like the greeting, I have to say, even though it makes it rather less alliterative with my Username than the one before New Year!

I like "oh hello there" - it sounds very personalised, and also has the twang of walking into an old dusty bookshop with loads of cool stuff in and a wise old guy behind the counter

"The alarm, Master! The opposition's tracked them! Oh good grief...look - Lord Fear's frozen Christopher!"
