Best Series
What Series do you think was the best one? I would say series 6 because it was a good one. What is your favourite series out of the 8?

Re: Best Series
I would say that Series 6 or 3 would be my favourite. The quests where excellent in series 6 while the atmosphere of series 3 was awesome.
I would say that series 5 would be my least favourite as the rooms where pretty poor and i think the ideas where lazy

S6...though I actually thought 5 was pretty good too character wise

Re: Best Series
I'll opt for Series 3 as my favourite. Hardly an original choice, but it really is very well done. I'd better save other comments for the Series 3 thread.
I usually opt for Series 7 as my least favourite, but I still like it a lot. Some nice new introductions, but as I've mentioned before, I don't like all the silly "The Opposition try to trick Hordriss" storylines. One would be fair enough, but it's used as a story device far too often this series for my taste.

Re: Best Series
My fave is Series 3, for all the reasons in the Series 3 thread and more.
Least favourite is Series 8. The Level 1 was pretty bland and all the same, and we'd thoroughly explored Level 2 in Series 7.

Re: Best Series
Series 1 is rather repetitive but when it got going it really built up the tension. Series 2 is by far the most fast-paced series but tended to be too easy (clue objects that weren't needed, easy riddles etc.)
The thing that stops series 3 from being a perfect series is the absence of a winning team. Also, I think it could have benefited from the kind of final conflicts in series 4. As it was, all the level 3 deaths were massive anti-climaxes and as a result rather frustrating - especially as the next dungeoneer would have to start way back at the beginning.
I never liked the graphics from series 4 onwards but those series did have their good points. The final conflicts in series 4 were perhaps the best (that scream from Malice is the best). Series 5 was a little slow but the end of the winning quest where life force was running out was very tense. Series 6 has loads of tension which I think makes it second only to series 3. Series 7 only got really good towards the end - only the last two quests I would rank as absolute classics. Series 8 is quite good - it has just about the best level 3 of the lot. What stopped it from being a classic was the lack of a large range of different rooms and puzzles in level 1, and an already familiar level 2.
So, after all that, I would say series 3 is perhaps the best series, followed by 6 and 2.

Re: Best Series
I'd say Series 6. The atmosphere was great, all the teams have quests of decent length, superb graphics, and those fantastically haunting causeways as well.... ;)

Which Series is best??
I think the 3rd was the best, all the classic elements of the first 2 series combined with the new improved characters and rooms added in the 3rd.

Re:Which Series is best??
My two favourites were series 7 and 8.
Firstly- these are the ones that I remember from the first time round and so to me these are what Knightmare is all about.
I thinkl the mix of characters were best: Motley, Stiletta and Snapper Jack from 8, with Greystagg and Grimaldene from 7 and Treguard, Majida, Hordriss, Sidriss, Lord Fear, Lissard and Sly Hands from both.
Also the game play was room to room but had a good mix of puzzles, having to guide the dungeoneer and character interactions whilst always being exciting.
To be honest, I preferred the anti chamber from series 7 but the series 8 game rooms are better.
If pressed I'd probably say 8 (if only it was longer!)

Re:Which Series is best??
for me the early days capture the originality of the concept. By the 7th and 8th series the ideas became old and the format tired. for me the first 4 years outclass the second 4

Re:Which Series is best??
The gameplay in season 7 was frequently dull as most locations didn't have any puzzles or obstacles in them at all.
The best season was the third one, although my favourite was the second.

Re:Which Series is best??
Most people are gonna say series 3 coz they are so purest and the series was totally unforgiving had a unfair death probably a couple actually. No let offs like in other series and No eye shield. Oh and the fact no one won
.
My fave series be 4 & 6 anyway.

Series 6 - Just seems most genuine, not too unforgiving, but tough enough?

Re:Which Series is best??
Favourite series usually stem from nostalgia. Series 2-4 hold most nostalgic value for me, although I love them all. Favourite has to be series 2 - it's pure back-to-basics classic stuff.
Least favourite is series 7. I thought some of the plots were a bit predictable, and the same sequence of rooms kept cropping up. Still Knightmare though, and still class.

I like my telly scary, and very dungeonish.
