Knightmare theme tune on BBC1
Fantastic to hear the KM theme tune on prime time BBC1 on a Saturday night!

Re: Knightmare references
I Love My Country (don't normally watch this but visiting the folks) - one of the rounds involved the house band playing TV theme tunes for the contestants to guess - and one of them was KM! I did an aural double take.
Sadly, none of the contestants knew it and neither did anyone in the audience
Still, high profile reference!

Wow! Just looked it up on iPlayer (it's about 8½ minutes in). How incredibly random. Disappointing that no-one recognised the tune, though at least one guy remembered Knightmare when told what the answer was!

Cool to hear the theme tune in a jazzy style on a prime time show! Yeah shame it didn't get recognised. If the original theme tune was played I think it would have been known by more people!
The only way is onward, there is no turning back.

Re: Knightmare theme tune on BBC1
So, we now have two TV shows that have featured a question about Colchester, repetition of the phrase "pity me" and a pie of questionable purpose.
When Frank Skinner says "Red Dwarf", one person - all alone, more or less - can be heard laughing. Whoever you are, the Dungeon salutes you.

I bet whoever chose the tunes for that question is a massive Knightmare fan who's been watching the various repeats this year. And I bet they were gutted when nobody else knew it!

I Love My Country was filmed in December (I went to see an episode being filmed, but sadly not this one!), so it was before most of Knightmare's recent exposure.

It's even more random than I thought, then! Only people of a certain age could be expected to recognise it, and even then they would have to be pretty big fans to remember the tune after not hearing it anywhere recently. The other two theme songs were far more obvious, with one being a current show and the other practically spelling out the title in the lyrics.
