Blackpool Meetup: Summer 2016
Yo,
A bunch of us were discussing the idea of a meetup in Blackpool in 2016.
Blackpool has always traditionally been a popular venue to go to, has plenty to do, and is cheap. There is a small possibility that we would attempt to run a variant of the Midnight Hunt one evening. However, we're looking into how practical this would be to do it safely in Blackpool.
Last time we did a Blackpool meetup, the cost was about 26 GBP per person per night, including breakfast. We'd aim to stay two nights.
Not yet sure of an exact date, hence the early call for participation. Any interest? Any particular dates that are preferred? Not preferred?

Count me in work permitting.
Social definitely, hunt maybe not unless in a more controlled environment and away from the stags, hens and giant appendages!

The hunt is a very big maybe. We would want to be able to blend in fairly seamlessly with the passers by. Personally, I'm seeing it more as an exercise in creativity on our end than, necessarily, a real test.
Don't expect NPCs to be crazily dressed or goblin chases or anything that might get someone glassed for "looking a bit funny".

Speaking of the hunt, when will the footage from the convention be able to view / download (if ever)? Thanks.

*pops her hand up*
Easter is also a peak time for B&Bs and there will be more people around than usual, families going away for the Easter hols, and also people who have discovered there is 10 minutes of Sun and will make a mad dash to the beach.
Social, yes, Hunt? Possibly, but deffo the wrong time of year for it in Blackpool, methinks.

If there is a Hunt (and it is a very big IF) it would be a complete rewrite of the concept specifically with Blackpool in mind. There wouldn't be Goblin chases or lone NPCs hanging around for obvious safety reasons

The Midnight Hunt footage from the convention is on the cards. There are a few directional difficulties that need to be overcome first.lonefairy wrote:Speaking of the hunt, when will the footage from the convention be able to view / download (if ever)? Thanks.
Convention DVDs will be available "soon".

Count me in for this, are there any proposed dates for this yet?
I personally would prefer this as a knees up for lots for fruity drinks!

For summer I will get to Blackpool. Count me in. Whitby was great fun and I am sure Blackpool would be the same.
It's only a game, isn't it?

Re: Blackpool Meetup: Summer 2016
I, for one, am interested in Blackpool. Socially, this works out best for me but I am open with other options. It is always nice to have a social and meet up, with those I have made quick friends with especially as Whitby went so well.

Very encouraged by the good feedback from Whitby and good to see people from that event will be coming over this way.
