Here's a list of the top 10 characters encountered in a dungeoneer's quest over the course of Knightmare's eight series, as decided by Denofgeek.com .

That has to be the first favourite character list that didn't have Treguard in it but I'm just as happy that Snapper Jack wasn't on there otherwise I would have happily scrawled the word "Philistines" all over it.

But yes, there's good choices. Many regulars and even a few not so many seen ones too.

Oh except Romanha! Can't believe she's on there! Cow!

Good to see Knightmare getting this kind of coverage, with the official ITV Children's Classics YouTube clips being used. (As a reminder, there are hundreds of these clips covering Series 1 and 3-8, and I've organised them all into playlists.)

A top ten list of Knightmare quest characters (or NPCs as Tim Child called them) was always going to be controversial, considering there were, by a rough count, over 80 of them in total. Brother Mace is on there so I can live with the rest.

'Lord Fear was played with enjoyable vim by Mike Knight' is a disappointing error. As is the claim that Gwendoline's hair was a 'much-used long, curly blonde wig'. I met Juliet last month and if that was a wig, she's still very attached to it.

Just had another look at this.

There are some great Knightmare characters missing, but these lists are always subjective and I'm sure everyone would have a slightly or even drastically different top 10.

I was never keen on Gundrada and Romahna I could take or leave, though the part was played well so I was more keen on her depending on which quest she was involved in.

I would also have put Grimaldine and Skarkill on the list if it were up to me...
